Meet Brenae Seals of Norwalk

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenae Seals.

Hi Brenae, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
One aspect of my story that makes me unique is using my platform on social media to make a difference. In July 2020, a month after police tragically murdered George Floyd, I decided to host a live show called Open Mic with Readjustbree that serves as a safe space for everyone affected by the ongoing trauma in our community, as well as Mental Health Monday with Readjustfit, which speaks on women’s mental health, Premenstrual syndrome, Endomentris, and Premenstrual dysphoric disorder. My Mental Health Monday audience helped me to give away pads and Therma care products to everyone who experiences a monthly cycle. Lastly, I hosted a live show on my Facebook called Repairing the Family, addressing financial issues, trauma, and differences that can affect the family.

Moreover, another significant aspect of my story is my church background. Growing up in a Christian home has exposed me to different perspectives, traditions, and languages, allowing me to embrace diversity and foster inclusive environments. This unique upbringing has shaped my ability to connect with individuals from various backgrounds and effectively communicate across cultural boundaries My passion for creativity, communication, and digital storytelling led me to earn a bachelor’s degree in communications, with a focus on Digital Media, graduating with distinction in 2023. My studies showed me how media shapes conversations, connects communities, and brings ideas to life.

Graduating gave me the foundation and confidence to actively pursue opportunities that allow me to create meaningful digital stories. Today, I focus on projects that leverage my skills in communication and digital media to make a tangible impact. Each new experience refines my voice and expands my capabilities, driving me toward my goal of inspiring and connecting communities.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
During the process of earning my degree, I went through some of the hardest moments of my life. I lost my childhood friend, my great-aunts, and my grandma—all while trying to stay focused on school. Grieving while balancing classes and responsibilities was incredibly difficult.

On top of that, I faced three academic disqualifications. Each one felt like a setback, but they also pushed me to grow, to fight for my education, and to believe in myself even when things seemed impossible. Those challenges taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of not giving up on my goals—even when the journey feels overwhelming.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a lifestyle blogger, an open mic host, and a mental health advocate. One of the things I’m most proud of is hosting two in-person open mic shows. Creating a space where people can express themselves, share their stories, and truly feel seen has been one of the most meaningful accomplishments in my journey. It reminded me of the power of community, creativity, and using my own voice to uplift others.

What sets me apart is the unique combination of my experiences and passions. Everything I do is rooted in authenticity, resilience, and a deep desire to connect with people. My personal challenges, creative work, and advocacy come together to shape a perspective that allows me to inspire others, create safe spaces, and build genuine community wherever I go.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Disney World in 2007 with my family. It was more than just a vacation—it was a family reunion and having everyone together made it truly unforgettable. Being surrounded by all the people I loved, laughing, exploring, and experiencing the magic of Disney as one big family made it the most special trip of my childhood. It’s a memory I still cherish because it reminds me of togetherness, joy, and how meaningful those moments were.
