Meet Brandon Tiffith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Tiffith.

Hi Brandon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Brandon “Big B” Tiffith (30), Born and raised in Watts, California, Nickerson garden projects. The son of music mogul Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith & Fashion stylist/Master Plumber Catina “Licious” Smith. I have 5 degrees, the most current being My Master in management and Systems from New York University’s School Of Professional Studies. I (Brandon “Big B” Tiffith) am the Founder Of “Big B The Chef” (Food Truck, Catering & Private Chef Services), chief marketing officer (CMO) at Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), Grammy award winner Jay Rock’s Manager & An Heir to the throne; Being TDE’s Founder Top Dawg’s Son. As CMO, I oversee marketing and sales at the label while helping manage a plethora of literal Superstars like SZA, JAY ROCK, SCHOOLBOY Q, ISAIAH RASHAD, DOECHII, AB-SOUL & MORE!

I like to describe myself as a “go getter!” I put my mind to it and I go get it! There’s no stopping me when I have a plan and my heart is in it! Holding many crowns, somehow, I’ve found the right balance that allows me to pursue multiple dreams at the same time successfully. Food, Entertainment & God; the perfect atmosphere for me to thrive!

The main thing I want to tell readers is to believe in you!! If you can speak it, you can reach it!!! Keep growing!!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Entering the food industry, I encountered many obstacles and challenges! The first one being the need to check my ego! Already being a high-level music executive, I was scared of what people would think of me pursuing food! Would they think I’m broke, got fired, laugh at me or just not support! I was deep in my head! Once I put that fear behind me, I had my first pop up and it showed me that people will support you as long as you support and believe in yourself!! You just have to take that first step for yourself! I look back and now have a business that has grossed over 150k in a year’s time!

The other obstacles were building a workforce and food waste. Building a staff is like choosing your family members and while I have not encountered one bad seed, it’s hard finding your team that works best for you and I had to hire and fire a few to get the right mix. Food waste is another thing, Calculating how much food to buy incorrectly will leave your profits in the negative. It’s hugely important to know your consumers, their spending/buying habits and to fully understand your finances, specifically at what point each day do you start turning a profit!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As CMO I oversee marketing and sales at the label while helping manage a plethora of literal Superstars like SZA, JAY ROCK, SCHOOLBOY Q, ISAIAH RASHAD, DOECHII, AB-SOUL & MORE!

As a chef & owner of Big B The Chef, I specialize in Soul food, seafood & Bringing a Smile to people’s faces through food. There is nothing like serving a customer and hearing that first “Oh my God” after they take their first bite. The most popular items on the food truck are my famous 4 cheese-baked Mac n’ cheese, Cajun Pasta, Lamb Chops, Sweet Chili & Lemon Pepper Wings! I am most proud of all of the smiles we’ve been able to bring to the community & the ability this business has given me to encounter and help people in need. If someone can not pay we make sure they still get fed and find more resources, there is so much change I’d love to lend my hand to as we grow! I think what sets me apart from others is the fact that I work from my heart instead of my wallet, being successful elsewhere before getting in the food business has given me the ability to focus on profits less and more so community impact! I am also proud of how far my business has come in a year’s time, we’ve done Coachella, rolling loud, puffcon, Meta’s Grammy party, a Merch collaboration with a champion clothing brand, countless celebrity events and much more! It’s a blessing!

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like the most about LA is our resilience, we’ve heard and seen it all so there’s no breaking us once we have our mindset and I credit our city for that. What I hate the most about LA is the way our resources are used, far too often do the needy in plain sight go overlooked!
