Meet Brandon Montel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Montel.

Brandon, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I grew up in church and started singing at a young age. I developed my unique, versatile style from listening to inspirations, such as Brandy, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and Lauryn Hill. I moved to Los Angeles, CA in December 2017. I got my very first gig singing with Ama Lou on a Jorja Smith tour in April of 2018. 2019 I joined Kanye Wests Sunday Service Collective touring the world with other amazing artists amongst the collective.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Moving to LA was very intimidating to say the least. Not having a consistent income the first few months almost led me to give up. After six months without work, that led to a few moments of depression, I got a job at an eatery called Backyard Bowls, where I met some of the most genuine, motivating people I’ve ever come across. They saw the potential in me and allowed me to go after my dreams whenever I needed to. My second ever audition in LA changed my life for the better. Kanye’s Sunday Service was the push that I needed to be fully focused on my dream, which was becoming a solo artist. Now I’m doing everything that I love and more.

What else should our readers know?
Be on the look out for more music dropping this year starting next month.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as accomplishing my purpose or goal that I’ve set out to a achieve. They may not lead to the best results, but you should always put forth and acknowledge your effort.
