Meet Brandon Casas of One In The Chamber in Whittier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Casas.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
As a kid growing up, I was enamored by the many styles of clothing worn by father, my uncles, and my great grandpa. All styles were entirely their own, and each uniquely radiated confidence. That confidence was instilled into me without words being spoken.

Clothing has always been my way of expressing myself. Nothing beat the feeling of laying out my outfit for the next day of school, knowing that once on my body I too would be radiating confidence.

With dreams of one day owning my own clothing company, I jumped headfirst into the streetwear industry by becoming an intern for Black Scale. I worked Monday through Friday for six months unpaid. Once hired on, I worked my way up to manager of the warehouse and distribution for all wholesale accounts.

Throughout my five years at Black Scale, I put together designs, ideas, brand names, concepts, and business plans. Ultimately, I always hesitated at the idea of dipping my toes into the saturated market that streetwear has become. I somehow lost the motivation, confidence, and excitement that once radiated through me, and my dreams were put on the back burner so to speak.

It took the birth of my daughter And motivation from my Fiancée to snap me out of this self-inflicted funk, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Once I decided to put forth positive energy, combined with all the knowledge I’ve accumulated while working in the streetwear industry, I said to myself, I’ve got one shot to make my dreams work, The lightbulb went off and One In The Chamber was born.

One In The Chamber is geared to inspire all the dreamers to take your shot! One In The Chamber, Your first shot. Your last shot. Your only shot. Pull The Trigger!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It started off very smooth, with a small release for friends and family. Once I received my Trademark my inbox was soon flooded with the “I need that” and “can you hold me one” requests. This lit a fire underneath me and I soon released my first collection of t-shirts, hoodies, and a hat. All of which Sold Out.

I hit my first bump in the road when I lost my job. And I was out of work for the first time in eight years for a total of four months. When you lose a job, you hope that the world stops until you can get back on your feet, when in reality it feels as if you’re stagnant and being lapped by life. In fact, as I’m writing this, I am still recovering and doing all I can to keep my bills paid, my dreams and my brand alive.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about One In The Chamber – what should we know?
One In The Chamber is a clothing company that specializes in graphics and slogans that inspire others to achieve their dreams by any means necessary.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Special thanks to my mentors. Mega – Black Scale / Half Way Dead. Jun – DEADLINE
