Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Navarro.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Ever since I was a child I’ve always loved photos. My dad would get disposable cameras for me and develop them as well as getting Polaroid film for my camera. I captured life in my small town, I went to school for ASL and thought that was the path I would take. But upon having children I wanted photos of them so I ran down to the portrait studio and came home disappointed with the results, the price and the service it didn’t work for me… it was like an assembly line. This lead to my first DSLR purchase! I was so excited I enthusiastically began to learn both the camera world and photo shop. 12 years later here I am giving my clients what I wanted out of a portrait experience!
Please tell us about your art.
As a photographer I specialize in capturing beautiful moments and memories. I know how much a photo means to people and how an image can encapsulate a moment in time that is irreplaceable. I am inspired by the world and people around me I believe in the emotion of a photograph and view every single photo session as an opportunity to improve my abilities. Through my humor and quirky personality, I bring out organic smiles I captured images that provide years of happiness to first time clients as well as my long time returning clients.
Given everything that is going on in the world today, do you think the role of artists has changed? How do local, national or international events and issues affect your art?
I believe the role of an artist is to present their interpretation of the world around them. We are all so different and I find it fascinating to view things through another photographer’s eyes.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My work can best be seen in the homes of families all across Southern California. However, if we haven’t created memories together. I have several publications in American Bagger magazine, Everyday Party Magazine, Pin Up Appeal, Delicious Dolls Magazine, Rocket Magazine, Bellisima Bride, Mingle Magazine, Latina Pin Ups and more. I have been featured on multiple blog sites including Caras Party ideas and LA Voyager! My Instagram and Facebook pages are bonnienavarrophotography and my website is www.bonnienavarrophotography.com. You can also get news and up to date information about Bombshell Betty’s calendar for charity where myself and my team raise money for Veteran organizations! Come on over and like and follow!
