Meet Bobbie Casalino-Lewis of Fashionably Wealthy Rich in Style

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bobbie Casalino-Lewis.

Bobbie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am an NYC transplant, brought to LA by my native now husband. I was a Wall Street Executive, first female to do so in an all-male firm in the early 1980s. A 40-year career in Telecommunications that spanned the entire evolution of the Telecom industry from monopoly to deregulation and teletype to Internet. It was a thrilling ride until it wasn’t anymore which gave me pause to reflect and think about my next Act.

I realized my life purpose of making people feel good about themselves – Pollyanna if you will – having had an education in Sociology geared to prison and social work – was right in front of my eyes. Literally – my closet full of clothes! I love putting outfits together particularly from what is already in your closet. So, I began looking into other peoples closets to help them make better use of what they had, look better and guess what FEEL better. One of my very favorite phrases is “I never would have put that together, but I Love it!”

Other responses to doing what came totally naturally to me included – you changed my life – my husband complimented me for the first time in years – I am attracting more clients and making more money because of the way I now show up – on and on. So I launched first as “Inspirational Style by Bobbie” then “InStyle by Bobbie” and now my picture perfect Brand – “Fashionably Wealthy” because when you work with me, you are Rich in Style. So now almost four years into my business I can boast 100’s of style makeovers, transformations and oh so happy clients.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing worth doing is ever easy in my opinion. Making the decision to leave a very high paying Corporate Career was difficult, deciding what I wanted to do next challenging, finding my purpose the best part.

Finding the right support and guidance was critical and was a Journey – one path led to the next and so forth as it continues to unfold today. Going from having it all basically handed to you – marketing, sales campaigns, IT tools, support, vision, social media, etc to having to create it all myself – hoo wee tough.

Attracting clients, creating a following, networking like a friend and finding my Tribe big tough challenges. However, effort over time wins out, so nothing is a permanent obstacle only a temporary challenge.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Fashionably Wealthy Rich in Style story. Tell us more about the business.
I pretty much talked about this in the previous questions. I specialize in taking the Stressing out of dressing, making a spot on 1st impressions and having more impact in the Board room and in the world for Professionals, Entrepreneurs, and Leaders of Leaders.

What sets me apart is my wealth of walking the style walk personal experience, capitalizing on the assets my clients already have and finding their Style purpose. I have a magical talent of seeing who they are and what wrapper will make their wordless introduction speak ever so loudly.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Well, the Fashion part is going to constantly continue to be dynamic – many more organic and eco-friendly materials will be employed. And the new designers will add interest, edge, and art taking garments to new levels. As well the method consumers have for obtaining clothing – that’s a wild ride in my opinion that has just begun. Days of shopping at the Mall are headed for obsolescence and shopping online is way too dicey for most. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Style, on the other hand, I see as heading for a big shift – gone are the days of dressing to a dress code, uniform and to confirm. I believe the inner work so many people are doing to improve and enhance their life experience will continue to require Style assessment and support. It is a well-documented fact that when you dress for who you are you simply do better at whatever that is and feel better about yourself in the bargain. Dressing to be Seen is the new Trend.
