Meet Deirdre Wilson of Out of the Blue with Deirdre Wilson in Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deirdre Wilson.

Deirdre, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have known that I wanted to be a talk show host since I was 20 yrs. old. I did some early interviews with Cheap Trick, record producer Jimmy Iovine and the Temptations. I also did the weather on cable television in Palisades Park, N.J. I was modeling in N.J. and NY for 12 years. When I moved to Los Angeles in 1988, I was very involved in my spiritual growth and attended lectures by author Marianne Williamson and support groups led by Louise Hay. I had always wanted to be like Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight, but then it all shifted. At a lecture Marianne Williamson was giving, her words changed the course of my career. She said that you can bring spirituality into whatever job you are doing and that you can make a difference on the planet. I was so moved that I meditated on what the three most important things in the world were to me, my answer was Animals, the Environment & Spirituality. Thus the theme for my show was born. I was way ahead of my time with my subject matter, but plowed ahead. I interviewed Marianne Williamson, Tippi Hedren, Patti Davis, Heal the Bay, Peta, the Humane Society, Jane Goodall Institute, NRDC, Women Against Gun Violence, and this was all in the early 90’s. I have never given up my mission for Positive Media for the Betterment of the Planet! My talk show was on Time Warner cable TV, LA Talk Radio and now on YouTube. It’s amazing to me that for 30 years, I have never strayed from that decision to follow my heart and enlighten the world.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Not a smooth road, the challenge has been to do what I love and get paid for it. I had to work a 9-5 job for years to support myself and do what I truly loved on the side for no compensation. But that’s what you do when you are passionate and walking your path. You are driven!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Out of the Blue with Deirdre Wilson – what should we know?
Not only am I a Talk Show Host, but I have had a resurgence with my career as a print model/commercial actor due to my natural silver hair! I am blessed to now be doing all of the things I love, it is truly the Best time in my life. I am also writing a book on my life that not only will tell of some amazing things that have happened to me along the way, but will cover overcoming the most difficult struggles in this lifetime and will hopefully help others.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Drive, passion, my knowingness of what I came here to do in this lifetime. My outgoing and honest personality!
