Today we’d like to introduce you to Blair Socci.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
It’s crazy because I was born in a sinkhole (which is a hell of a way to come into the world, am I right?). When the ground gave out, it sent my mom into labor, and I slid out, covered in goo. My mother is a strong and revered woman.
Needless to say, the townspeople freaked that I was part amphibian and said I never had a future in comedy. But, I love to prove people wrong. And even though the fish from A Shape of Water is based off on my father, I have still managed to make a name for myself in this business.
People talk a lot of shit about nepotism, but I’m like “hey bitch, you’re just mad cuz you’re dad isn’t sexy fish, sorry everyone wants to put me in their movies.” I eventually moved to New York where I started comedy (close to large body of water). People accepted me as I was there (a cold-blooded animal). I eventually landed on an MTV prank show where I became the Dax Shepard of amphibian comedians.
A little while later, I decided to venture out west to Tinsel Town (near the Silver Lake reservoir). Everything’s been going great. I love all the restaurants and being in so many movies.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, per the previous question, it involved a lot of falling and scathing shit talk from the townspeople in my village. But I am a headstrong little dude and pressed on anyway. I’d have to say the biggest struggle was having to listen to so many unfunny men on the way up. But without them, I would never know about all the women trying to trap their open-micing, jaundice afflicted asses on dating apps. I love being a movie star. I am rich.

I am a stand-up comedian in Hollywood, California. I am most proud of riding the coat-tails of my famous fish father, I think what sets me apart from others… hmmm, nothing’s really coming to mind… it’s hard to say! I am known for my extremely positive nature and for my anti-Triscuits campaign. I also love Sprite.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me is happiness. Regardless of what’s going on outside myself because we will always want more until we die. I feel so lucky to do get to do what I do every night. I think it’s so important to know that each one of us is absolutely magnificent and that another you has never existed before in the universe. We need to enjoy our fucking lives.
For instance, I have a total monopoly on all of the half-woman/half-amphibian parts in Hollywood. Was it a struggle before I made it? Did tons of people spit in my face? Yes, but there can be 100 people in a room, and 99 who don’t believe in you and all it takes is one who does. Wait, has someone said that before?
