Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca or “Bee” Muscatelli.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Bianca. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Bee Bronze Mobile Spray Tan in January of this year. Bee Bronze is very much still in her baby stages!
Previously, I had been working for another mobile spray tan company where I felt undervalued and extremely underpaid. I loved the “job” of tanning different people and making them feel beautiful, but it literally wasn’t making any sense for me financially to continue working there. It wasn’t until after months of venting to friends about the job that I decided to quit working for someone else and start my own business. Truly, if it wasn’t for my friends and partner, I’d probably STILL be working for that company right now.
Two close friends of mine sat me down and while one worked on my logo, the other typed out my resignation letter to my boss. I truly had to be pushed into this new chapter! My anxiety was through the roof and I was so afraid of starting this new journey alone, but ten months later, I know I couldn’t have made a better decision!
Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been smooth at all. Having to build up my own new client roster has been a bit tough, especially with “off-seasons” that I wasn’t aware of or prepared for.
Handling social media, marketing and being my own boss has also been a challenge. No one is there to make sure I’m doing everything I need to be doing to ensure that my business is growing and that I’m not slacking. When I’m feeling less than inspired, I’m grateful to have creative and caring friends who brainstorm with me and give me ideas and suggestions to keep me going.

Bee Bronze is a mobile service, so we come to you! We spray tan our clients in the privacy of their home or office! The service takes about 15 minutes, so we’re in and out!
What I’m most proud of is our spray tan solution (the stuff that makes people bronze)! Most spray tan “newbees” are terrified that they’re going to walk out of their spray tan looking like Donald Trump or Snookie from Jersey Shore. I’m proud to say that our tans are always golden BROWN and never orange! Smells can also be tricky depending on the spray tan solution so we always feel validated when new clients exclaim that they actually LIKE the smell of our solution. 🙂
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
LA and especially the Valley is a great place for a spray tan business. There are tons of entertainers who want that healthy glow for photoshoots, events, auditions, red carpets and the list goes on.
I would definitely recommend this area for someone else just starting out in the same business. There are so many people living here that there is plenty of room for multiple businesses to thrive in this industry!
