Meet Beverly Hills Hairstylist: Oliver Ifergan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Oliver Ifergan.

Born in Mexico City to parents of Mexican and French descent, he has cultivated his talent by training and working with some of the most internationally recognized stylists, brands and luxury salons in the world. A reputation for making clients feel and look beautiful, Oliver has become one of Hollywood’s most sought after stylists. Hungry for success in the United States and eager to realize his dream of opening his own chain of salons one day, Oliver made his way to Miami where he worked for renowned stylist.

He spent three years in the Miami salon before heading to the trendy Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive salon. Seeking the energy and vibrancy of New York, but not wanting to give up glamorous and sunny California, Oliver then joined fellow French celebrity stylist, Laurent Dufourg, owner of Prive Salon where he has spent two years working between the New York and Los Angeles locations. Oliver Ifergan currently has two salons in the US Downtown Los Angeles and Beverly Hills and a franchise in Mexico City. He also has a franchise in Mexico City.

Has it been a smooth road?

Yes, the day I turned 30 they called me to ask me if I could do a house call, I said yes and they gave me the address, it was on a Universal Studio lot. When I arrived I was greeted by Tom Ford and it was for a Vanity Fair spread featuring George Clooney. That was pretty cool.

What are your plans for the future?

Our plan is to take Beauty with a Twist hair products to Canada, Mexico and Great Britain. I am looking forward to opening more locations in LA in the next year.

Let’s dig a little deeper into your story.  What was the hardest time you’ve had?

The hardest part in my career was when I opened my first salon in the 2008 crisis, after 6 months I was going to close if it wasn’t for a gig I got with PG as a spokesperson for Pantene.

Do you ever just stop and think WOW – I’ve made it?

After 5 years running my salon in LA I got a call from this lady in Mexico asking me if I was open to license my name in Mexico City to open a Salon, that was very humbling experience, 6 months later I was flying to Mexico City with my top colorist from my salon in LA to open the salon.
