Today we’d like to introduce you to Betty and Christophe Brosy.
Betty, Christophe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We moved from France in March 2019 with our 2 Daughters Maelys 10 years Old and Arizona 5 years old, we all left from France to try this Beautiful adventure ! We opened our French bakery on May 6, 2019. My husband has been a pastry chef for over 17 years, he is passionate, hardworking, and wishes to bring the French know-how here in California. Picky, and very perfectionist we wish the best for our customers, all our products are homemade, made from scratch and fresh every morning ! We have started to prepare this great project since 2018, when we were still in France it is not easy to mount this kind of project remotely. Once we got there we all had to start from scratch, get our license back, look for accomodation, enroll the girls in school, buy new cars, it was really difficult because we had to do it very quickly ! And then we had to quickly set up our new French Bakery, for administration, propose a Menu, what products will produce, a lot of questions and doubts at this time. For 8 months now we have almost found a balance, we are changing some things but everything is clearer. In France we talk a lot about the American dream, so we thought why not try it ! and in California the sun shines almost every day here 🙂
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For us the greatest difficulty was the language barrier, because our English is not very good, but nowadays we have a lot of tools to support and help us. And it was not easy at the beginning to adapt to all these changes because we had lost all our benchmarks, especially for our 2 girls who did not speak 1 english word, the start of the school year was not easy.
LITTLE FRANCE Coffee & Bakery – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a Authentic French Bakery, we offer: breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, danishes, cookies, and more… the best we do are the Danishes, the best croissant from Orange County ! (according to our customers) it’s maybe because all our products are made from scratch and fresh every morning with French know-how. We are proud to bring high quality to all our products, and what sets us apart from the rest is that we are really French, it’s not just the name, just walk through our door and you will hear French 😉 Our reviews Yelp confirms it!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For us success is to succeed in bringing our customers a little piece of France, to make the discover our flavor, and above all that our customers appreciate. We already have a lot of contacts who have called on us for major important media events, he is looking for a high quality of products and we can bring them. And maybe that our little bakery will one day be too small to accommodate all of our customers!
