

Today we’d like to introduce you to Berlanti Azhak.
Hi Berlanti, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The journey began about 15 years ago while I was working for a planning company that specialized in private estate event planning. It was there I met the Property Manager at Malibu Rocky Oaks, Jessica, who I later partnered up with and The Elegant Ninja was born.
We wanted to start a new kind of event company that handled both Venue Management and Event Planning and Production. Our goal was to offer specialized private estate event planning to our couples and venue management for our estate owners. We utilizing the knowledge and experience acquired from both divisions to help grow in ways our competitors could not.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I dont think smooth sailing exists in this industry! We have been through countless obstacles— such as but certainly no limited to; city permitting restrictions, venues closing down, wildfire destruction, heat waves, wind storms, covid, you name it.
Through it all we know the show must go on and regardless what life throws our way, we get up and do our very best. And we are fueled by our couples’ love and gratitude.

We produce thought-out events that not only tend to our client’s vision but also create a meaningful experience for every guest in attendance. Our creative process is based on two key elements; a deep and personal understanding of each of our couples and a creative approach that focuses on entertaining as a whole and with intention.
When it comes to understanding our couples, we’ve come up with a series of questions designed to help us understand them on a deeper level. We then utilize our experience, creative insight and strong vendor relationships to translate this knowledge into a wedding that best represents them while also creating an unforgettable experience for all lucky enough to attend.
Since our services focus on the art of entertaining as a whole our process is based on just that. Every selection made— from rentals, florals, cuisine, drinks, music, etc.— is chosen with intention. We take into consideration all five senses when creating an atmosphere— sight, smell, taste, sound and touch are all key factors to consider when curating an unforgettable event!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Not to sound cliche, but my clients mean the most to me. Their priorities become my priorities, their vision becomes my reality, and eventually, they grow to become some of my dearest friends.
