Ben, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Solé Bicycle Company was founded in 2009 by a group of best friends who were fed up with the state of bicycles. With a shared determination and vision, we set out to introduce fashion forward yet affordable bicycles that anyone can pick up and ride. We were sick of bike shop hassle, and figured out how to ship bikes directly to your doorstep 90% assembled, for a fraction of the cost.
Fast forward Eight years and we’re still doing what we love — Just a group of guys living and dreaming in Venice Beach, working day in + day out to help you fall in love with your daily commute.
Whether cruising from the office to the beach, the coffee shop to campus, or just taking a lazy Saturday ride with friends, your bicycle is a vital accessory. It’s not about “going for a bike ride” but more so “living a life by bike.” At Solé, we want to share the blissful experience of riding an incredible bicycle that leaves you with enough cash left in your pocket for your next adventure. We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
With any business there are challenges or struggles – for us it was this business was built from nothing, literally from the ground up. For years we paid ourselves nothing, and re-invested all the profits back into the business. It was hard work, but eventually it paid off when the business started to turn the corner

Solé Bicycles is the purveyor of stylish, affordable, and easy to ride bicycles. We make tons of different rides, perfectly suited for a rider of any level. We are known for making bicycles that are much more than just mere sporting equipment, but a full-on fashion statement. We currently make the world’s only mass produced polka dot line of bicycles, and have collaboration bicycles with both Rag & Bone / Wildfox.
What were you like growing up?
Personally, I grew up surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, riding motorcycles, and exploring. I still enjoy all of these activities and use inspiration from all of these cultures daily when working on Solé.
