Today we’d like to introduce you to Becky Rosenberg.
Becky, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started BUTIK in late 2001. I saw a need for representation for the growing community of independent designers in LA. Having grown up in New England with a creative and sales oriented family, this was a very natural fit for me.
It combined my innate love of design and jewelry with my people skills. Sixteen years later we have showrooms in both LA and NYC and represent brands from all over the world.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The wholesale industry is tough. It’s extremely saturated and competitive as well as intricately tied, not only to the ever-changing economic cycles, but also to the current social and political climate. That said, I’ve seen my share of ups and downs over the last 16 years. The truth is the challenging times have made me the business person I am today. I owe a large part of my success to learning how to be agile and responsive to the realities of our industry and the world around me. I pride myself on listening to and heeding the needs of our customers.
BUTIK Showroom – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a contemporary multi-line women’s accessories showroom. We specialize in launching new trend jewelry brands. What sets us apart from others as well as what I’m most proud of are one in the same: our emphasis on customer service and the general experience the moment you walk in our door. We pay close attention to the details and convey this through our overall aesthetic. From our custom designed and handmade jewelry displays to our furniture in our showrooms. No stone is left unturned when it comes to the way we represent ourselves.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I am always proud when we can bring success to our brands. Seeing our clients succeed is what keeps me going.
