Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Brassfield.
Becca, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started out as a freelance makeup artist and esthetician, working around LA in various salons and studios. I realized that being my own boss was essential to my happiness as an artist and an entrepreneur so I decided to open up my own space where I could control the quality of services being provided to my clients.
I love instant gratification, so hair removal, spray tanning and makeup were always a great outlet for me with creativity and the services I could offer. One of the things I take great pride and value in is the quality of my product and the results I achieve. Every client is treated with 5-star service when they come in to my place!
Has it been a smooth road?
Oh boy, it seems that the road is ever changing and ever so satisfying to travel on. It’s definitely challenging to open up a business starting from ground zero and it has definitely gotten me to think outside of the box in regards to marketing strategies and the psychology behind business and client relationships. I am still learning so much and am having a great experience in doing it all.

My company is called Sugar & Shine, I specialize in sugaring hair removal, spray tanning and makeup. What’s really great about sugaring compared to waxing is the longevity of results and the lack of pain that comes along with it. Sugaring doesn’t burn or rip the skin and takes the hair from the hair root causing less growth over time. It also prevents and corrects ingrown hairs! I customize each spray tan to individual needs, taking great care to match skin tone as well as give them lasting results. My clients come to me and comment on how comfortable I make them feel and how professional I am during their service. The fact that they trust me and they always know that they will get amazing results is something that I am very proud of.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love LA for its quirkiness and culture. We have so many different backgrounds that give LA its flare and I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences each day.
