Today we’d like to introduce you to Badd Wolf.
Badd, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. My best friend had all his dad’s old recording stuff in his garage. We decided to mess with it and try to record something! The thing that was horrible was we had to record a track in one take. The most difficult thing you can ever do. You can’t run out of breath or mess up because you would have to start over again. That taught me perfection. Later we started getting equipment to records such as a good microphone and a laptop so we can use garage band. Kept recording and perfecting our craft. I found a good friend of mine name Errol he goes by El3productions who is an excellent photographer and videographer. We meet at the bar for drinks
and he offered to shoot a video for me just for fun. I decided to shoot my song I just recorded called Johnny cash which was later featured on the tv show Yellowstone on paramount networks. I later meet my best friend wild the coyote and we teamed and created a sound that’s like no other. If you could imagine Johnny cash and ice cube collaborated on one song. What’s what you would get with us. We later went on our nation tour with yelawolf across America and Canada.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely have not been a smooth road. Starting from nowhere, not knowing where you’re going or your vision in the beginning. You kind of just gave to figure it out as you go. There were a lot of empty promises and people who don’t have the same work ethic as you do. People doubt you, they think you are insane, that’s including friends and family. Doing shows for free, performing in front a small crowds when no one pays attention to you. It can be very discouraging.
Can you give our readers some background on your music?
I’m a dreamer, artist, entertainer & free thinker from Los Angeles. I continue creating my own lane while enjoying the human experience.
I cultivated an identity that’s my own. My music combines a unique blend of sounds which range from blues and dark-country to trap-influenced rap and soul. I utilize current trap sounds will displaying the steely attitude of a western desperado. I performed for sold-out shows at LA’s famous Viper Room, for Harley Davidson, and Slumfest in Nashville with yelawolf and also joined his national tour and Canada.
Recently, My music was featured in Paramount’s hit TV series “Yellowstone”. A milestone which is only the beginning for My career.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My mother she told me to never give up and keep pushing. Don’t listen to the bullies and stand up for yourself. My friends Russel, letting me use his equipment to record. My best friend Mo, wild the coyote for allowing me to be apart of his band when everyone was wondering why when all I did was play the tambourine, my good friend I considered a brother Pete sands! He played a huge role in Yellowstone tv show. And the people who support me and help me push my dreams. They are all part of my success right now. And last but not least yelawolf for allowing me to be apart of his tour and his festival he had down in Nashville.there are so many more people who helped contribute to my life it’s a long list I appreciate all of them the same.
