Meet Ava Connolly

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Connolly.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Ava. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From an early age, about four I would make up commercials and scenes and make my parents watch me; and I did this all the time!! I kept asking for a few years to be on tv. When I hit six, I started asking for acting lessons. Instead, my parents signed me up for soccer. Which after a season of playing and me not stopping asking about acting they gave in. I started classes at Hollywood Huntsville here in town. I started booking short films and I was totally addicted to getting to be another person! I love it. I started booking some Indy films and then got my first SAG role… I was so excited to get that SAG letter!!!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For me, the only bumpy part was finally getting my parents on board with the fact I wasn’t going to stop asking to be an actor. I’m really blessed in that my parents do so much for me. My agent and manager work hard too and together they have made this nothing but fun for me!!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m proud of getting my SAG eligibility!!! One thing that sets me apart is that even though I’m almost 11, I’m the size of a six or seven years old. It can be annoying but for acting it’s great! Because I can play those younger parts.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Definitely opening that SAG letter. I waited for months to get it and it hangs on my bulletin board!! Any time I get an audition, I’m excited. They picked me to show them what I can do! That’s a win!!
