Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Huynh.
Hi Austin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I started Theatrical and Commercial/Print. I attended an acting studio, The Studio NW in Portland Oregon, where I learned Meisner and Method Acting Techniques. Explored workshops throughout Portland Oregon and Los Angeles to learn how to audition for commercial and prints, how to use casting websites, and build a headshot resume.
After a while, I submitted myself to agencies and got a lot attempts but through grit and work. I finally got my first agent! I started doing commercials and prints. Did theatrical audition from time to time. A few months in I booked my first Union Theatrical Project. The Netflix Feature Film called Metal Lords(2022). I was booked as “Tim” one of Skips Football Jocks. Amazing Credit and loved every experience of working on set. I hope for more in the near future.
After the project wrapped I essentially packed my bags moved to Los Angeles. I booked commercial and print projects throughout LA. Ultimately, as of now doing my diligence and working on my craft is the best thing I can do to myself. All through Gods work and faith!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey is anything but smooth. Had to work 2-3 jobs to make rent. Life has obstacles that needed pivoting and do what you can to make ends meet. “Keepin going” is the best thing to do in most cases. Whats hard to accept, at the time, is to step away and hopefully come back even better than ever. Which I have been greatly appreciated at the time there of.

I do Live Events and Entertainment. Love Technical work and I do it on the side. Passion will always be Acting!
