Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Coulson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We started in 2005. Before that, I was working for another web design company and we were doing great. Then we had new owners come in and they were strictly focused on sales but not as worried about the level of service we were providing. We were hustling with sells and we were bringing in lots of new projects but I started noticing that the projects were not getting finished on time or at all. My customers weren’t happy and we weren’t finishing the projects which means we weren’t getting referrals or even the full payment for the project. So I went to talk to the new owners they said you don’t worry about, focus on your job, sales. Let someone else worry about production. I knew this wasn’t the best for our customers or the business so I left and started ACU Web.
From that experience, I started ACU Web with one real goal. To create long term relationships with my clients based on results and trust. Many companies in our industry keep their clients in the dark about the actual results of their work and are happy as long as you show up on Google for a few obscure keywords or your site is just online. We don’t stop there.
We focus on the return you are getting on your marketing spend and review this with you each month. From there we can make decisions based on the results you are getting, not just how well you rank.
Has it been a smooth road?
It hasn’t. My biggest obstacle has always been cash flow. We do ok financially but getting the money to come in when you need it, i.e. for payroll or a big expense is tough.

We turn searches into sales. We do this by building, maintaining, optimizing and marketing websites. We market websites mainly through Google using Search Engine Optimization, Pay-Per-Click Campaign management and content creation/marketing.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I was born and raised here and continue to improve my network within the community. So for me it’s a good fit and I plan to stay.
