Today we’d like to introduce you to Audryana Cruz.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Audryana. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Since high school, I have always loved taking photos of friends and decided to take the path into making photography as a career at some point after I graduated. Long story short, after high school, I joined a dance team at UCLA and met this amazing human, (shout out) Tiffanie Chow, who inspired me to become a photographer. I am currently in school majoring in Photography & Imaging.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not…but you have your good days and bad days just like everyone else. The majority of artists (including myself) can agree that sometimes it’s hard not trying to compare your own work to other artists, but I find it nice when you can find inspiration within that. Occasionally, I’ll get creative block. I still have a love for dance so whenever I have a hard time figuring out what I want to create I find time to take dance classes for inspiration to incorporate into my photos and to clear my mind. Dealing with depression and anxiety is challenging. It’s different for everyone but it’s important to put mental health as a priority and to take care of yourself. On another random note, you can’t please everyone. This is a reminder to PLEASE yourself. LOVE yourself. I am still learning how to do that every day.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Audryana Cruz Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am a portrait/editorial photographer. I’m most proud of the collaborations I have been a part of and experienced. Good & challenging. My friends tell me I have nice color palettes in my photos, so I guess that’s what I’m known for according to them. Currently playing around with printing and mixed media within my photography but haven’t decided if I want to show them or keep them to myself. I’m constantly changing and growing as an artist, so what sets me apart from other artists is also constantly changing.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future include shooting editorial. Looking forward to creating with different artists and also hope to one-day capture photos of the people I look up to in the music industry.
