Meet Aubrey Destremps of AUBREY COSMETICS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aubrey Destremps.

Aubrey, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started doing hair and makeup back in my hometown of Westport, Massachusetts. I grew up on the east coast and loved style, fashion, hair, makeup etc. I always wanted to do something bigger with it. I had to deal with a lot of judgmental people who didn’t like to see me give my dreams my best shot, but its been fun watching them turn into believers. This didn’t just happen overnight though, I had to work to prove myself. I missed my family because I was the only one here on the west coast. I did everything I could to land modeling jobs and take any opportunity doing hair/makeup that I could. Hard work has been paying off and I keep pushing towards my ultimate goals even when road blocks arise. I have not only built up a large clientele for hair and makeup, but I also have been able to start my own, self-funded makeup line called Aubrey Cosmetics. Modeling is better than ever, and I am booking jobs with companies I could’ve only dreamed of working with years ago.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road at all. There were a lot of things I had to learn by going through, even learning how to surround myself with the right people. I’ve had so many experiences these past two years in Los Angeles that have changed me as a person, and for the better at that. I am glad for the struggles I’ve been through because it has given me so much clarity and self awareness for the future. I still have occasional bumps in the road, but thats just a part of life.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about AUBREY COSMETICS – what should we know?
My business is Aubrey Cosmetics, it is a makeup line in my own name. I wanted to do more than just hair and makeup and didn’t want my income to keep coming from promoting other companies. I decided to start my own line and have makeup made to my standards. Something I am really proud of with this line is that it is a proud member of PETA and 100% cruelty free.  I ensured the formulas would be healthy for skin and not harmful like other makeup brands. Aubrey Cosmetics is paraben free and packed with exotic oils to moisturize and beatify. I like to look at makeup from a different perspective, by making it an all inclusive lifestyle brand. My newest release is rolling papers. I had rolling packs made with natural rice fibers, this means that they have a double purpose: as an oil blotting paper throughout the day to maintain a matte face. These rolling papers can be thrown in your purse/bag for makeup touch ups, recreation/rolling, or to make a fashion statement.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Have been able to be successful because of resilience, being able to bounce back after hard times. Never take no for an answer!
