Meet Asia David of Die Free Studios in Downtown LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asia David.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Asia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The idea for my company, Die Free Studios, came about my Junior year of college. The name came to me first and then the business formed around that. I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur as a young child, and college was where it came together for me. I fell in love with Visual Communications, and was inspired by the various creative internships I worked throughout those 4 years. They exposed me to different jobs in fashion, art, and photography and the idea for an agency came together. This model allowed me to explore all the creative mediums I love and serve others in the process.

The name Die Free came from the idea of designing a life so true to who you are that you die a “free” person… finding true freedom through living in your full purpose.

My way of living this out is through entrepreneurship and servicing our DFS clients through my talents and interests. I get to choose who I work with and align with brands that I want to see win in the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Ha! It’s been everything but a smooth road, though I quickly learned to fall in love with the process. My confidence and expertise gets stronger when I am able to navigate new challenges, as it only makes my business and client experience better.

Building a business has been my fast-track to self-discovery and growth as it has stretched me on so many levels. Aside from the day-to-day work of running a business, I’m constantly confronted with managing clients, my creativity and understanding my strengths and weaknesses as an individual. I then have to decide how I’m going to let unexpected challenged affect my day and what the next course of action is.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Die Free Studios story. Tell us more about the business.
Die Free Studios is a creative marketing agency. We dive deep into our client’s business (literally and figuratively) to pull out and dissect what’s holding them back and then create a marketing strategy to address those issues. We specialize in crafting beautiful stories through websites and campaigns that connect with audiences. Everything we do is goal driven and based out of strategy, but ultimately are creatives who like to explore and play with new ideas. I’m most proud of our ability to be a trusted voice of business strategy for our clients. We’ve built a level of trust and expertise that our clients are enthusiastic about our suggestions and allow us to guide them in the best direction of growing their brand.

What sets up apart as a company is our ability to bring new energy, a fresh perspective, and solace to brands that feel like they are lost or their growth has stunted. We are real people who genuinely want to see our clients win. Our clients are always excited and confident by the time we launch their website and are educated on how their brand should work online as a whole.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think our industry will lean into more personalized experiences, and truly understanding who their audience is. The success of businesses will rely solely on “brand” and how well their customers know and love them. Obviously, everything will be digital, but at a higher level and it will be about prioritizing a wide web presence and using new avenues such as voice marketing (eg. podcasts and voice ads in general) to reach audiences.

I personally hope there will be more experiential design and activations (e.g. Refinery’s 29 Rooms) that really create memorable moments for customers.
