Meet Ashlyn Rich and Pam Weber of Sweat House OC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Rich and Pam Weber.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ashlyn: Growing up, I was always into sports and fitness. As an adult, I took years of traditional Pilates classes, which eventually led me to Lagree Fitness. Lagree fulfilled all that I felt was lacking with my traditional Pilates workouts. Lagree incorporates cardio, strength training, toning, and flexibility all in one workout. I loved it because every class was different, yet challenging, and always had me coming back for more. In 2014, I opened my first studio location in Mission Viejo. It was there that I met Pam. Pam was a client, turned trainer, turned business partner, and now we own a 2nd location in San Clemente.

My goals with opening Sweat House was to change lives through fitness, movement, music, community, and physical well being. Creating a space where others feel empowered and welcome has always been a priority. It’s been so beautiful to watch the friendships that have been made and the community that has been built through the studio. We have especially felt the love and support during COVID. It’s been trialing to say the least, and our community has really rallied and stood by us. They are the heart of our studios!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Thankfully, prior to COVID, the studios have run fairly smoothly. I credit that to amazing trainers and just wonderful clients. COVID has definitely presented its challenges. There were times we questioned if we would survive if we didn’t open back up soon. Luckily we were able to re-open and things are on the up and up. That doesn’t mean we are out of the woods and challenges are not presented daily, but we have faith and we continue to lead with a positive attitude, a whole lot of prayers, and the support of our Sweat House community. It’s been heartbreaking to see one fellow studio close after another. I personally know how much time, energy, and money goes into opening and running a small business, and it breaks my heart to see my fellow owners have to close. I made a promise to my trainers and to my clients that we won’t be one of those studios and we will do everything we can to uphold that promise.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Sweat House OC is the only Lagree licensed studio located in San Clemente and Mission Viejo. The Lagree method is taught on the Megaformer (not to be confused with a Pilates reformer) which will provide a high intensity, low impact workout, and more calories burned by providing a time under tension workout. It is safe for all body types, fitness levels, and ages.

The Lagree method is a multi-faceted workout that combines resistance training and cardio into one comprehensive, balanced system to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body. The Megaformer provides you with a spring-based workout which allows for smooth and quick transitions as well as a safe and effective workout. Lagree Fitness is intensified by the strength training and cardio elements, which will help you achieve muscle definition and a leaner and stronger body faster than traditional Pilates.

The Megaformer is for every-BODY! Our classes are 50 minutes long and will work all major muscle groups. We encourage you to embrace the shake! Not only will you burn hundreds of calories during class, but you will experience “after burn” for days after. We have small group class sizes which give our trainers the ability to monitor all clients closely and provide modifications and adjustments when needed. All of our trainers are Lagree Fitness certified and many come with an extensive background which involves traditional Pilates, TRX, personal training, and barre/dance. We pride ourselves on the level of training we provide, great customer service, and you will always enter a clean and well-kept studio. You will always get what you pay for at Sweat House OC!
