Meet Ashley Stuart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Stuart.

Ashley, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The way I started modeling was actually very strange lol, I started because I went through this breakup when I was about 18 and the kind of person that I am, I channel my energy into work, so my friend at the time was starting photography and I told him like “yo I’m so down to be your muse“ and we started taking pictures, Instagram was literally now coming out .. so it was basically that way.

As I got older and I actually enjoyed it, I began taking it seriously. Scouts began reaching out to me, and I started reaching out to photographers who would be helpful to shoot TGP ( trade for photo ) and it just went from there. I started working out, working on my mental and physically. My friend circle began changing and I started getting invited to all these events… and everything just kept going from there. Heartbreak would do it to you. Lol so thankful it all worked out.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been easy even to this day. I’m not a y’all model. I’m 5’5 but photograph tall and many agencies weren’t open to giving me a chance or taking a shot on me. It started to take a toll on my confidence and I literally started looking up knee surgery! Lol so many agents would reach out and they would say never mind because of my height until one day I decided to work on myself and I started praying more… and believing what was for me will be for me. Now I love my height and myself more than ever.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Well, first of my name is Ashley Stuart, so people normally think I own the store Ashley (Stewart) or they all they think my name isn’t my name lol not sure why. So I started being known from that little joke. On social media I’m known as a model or whatever else people think I am. I’m very private and secretive so I let people assume whatever they may.

Right now, I’m super proud of my drive. The fact that I never gave up and that I kept going. I’m a lover, and sometimes that area of my life can spill over into my career and make me slack off if I’m not happy… so I’m happy I never gave up and I bossed up.

What sets me apart? I would honestly say my privacy. People are always so intrigued by me and I think my aura keeps people guessing. I don’t do too much, but also not too little, you know?

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I would love to land a Sephora Campaign. I really want to walk into the store and see my face on the wall… I’m manifesting that for myself, the near future. It’s coming. Quote me on this! As far as big changes, I’ll be an official resident of LA man, so scary but I’m ready.
