Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Bone.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I remember like it was yesterday it was the month of August of the year 2018 I was sitting in my car at my job at the time waiting to go in and clock in for my scheduled shift. I called my father on the phone and had a long conversation with him about how I was going to quit my job because I feel like I’m not growing here there is no opportunity for me to grow and this is just not what I want to do with my life.
He had my back 100% but he told me, don’t quit unless you have a plan and you were going to stick to that plan because I have to be able to provide for not only myself but for my 1 yr old son at that time. So I walked in my job motivated myself to quit but I was just too scared to do it because that was my only income. It wasn’t until September 6, 2018 my life was turned upside down my mentor, my personal diary, my first love, my father suddenly passed away. He went to work and never made it back home. While having to plan a funeral for my father, I was also planning the birth of Perry A cosmetics. I mean, I researched I made sample products to use on myself as well as my son. My son and I both struggle with our skin so I wanted to create a natural skin line that will be safe for people with the same issues but also cater to beauty.
By September 6, 2019 I launched Perry A cosmetics. The name Perry was my father’s name and A is just my son and I first name initial. By September 2020, Perry A cosmetics is now Perry A Cosmectics LLC. We sell a variety of items ranging from hair care to face and body skincare. All of the Perry A products are hand made and mix with natural ingredients so they can be used on kids and adults with sensitive skin. Perry A will also be dropping Apparel by the year 2021. I just want to thank my customers and my guardian Angel my father for always believing in me and motivating the birth of my business without support there wouldn’t be a Perry A cosmetics.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth being a “momentrepreneur” is hard work. Being a single mom raising a black son while trying to work a 9-5 and school is very demanding but I would not have it any other way.
Perry A Cosmetics LLC – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My company is a natural skin line. We have lip gloss, lashes, Body butter, body oils, and hair growth oils. What makes me most proud is being able to see people struggling with skin issues say that my product is clearing their skin or my product is growing their hair. What sets me apart from other companies is that I’m taking the time to hand make all these items. Perry A is not that big of a company yet to have a production team so I put my heart and soul into every item.
