Meet Ashe Taylor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashe Taylor.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Hello, I am 21 years old born and raised in Los Angeles California. I am currently in fashion school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) located in Downtown Los Angeles. I will graduate with my Associate’s degree in Merchandising Marketing in June 2019. I’ll be starting my second quarter of the Bachelors of Science Business Management program April 11th. I also just started my job working at Fashion Nova as an E-commerce Site Merchandiser. While that is what my life and job is currently just last week I was a full-time student and freelance stylist. I started my own styling company called Looks By Ashe Taylor in 2015 after I had the amazing opportunity to professionally style for an Adidas lookbook for a Superstar Campaign. So much is in the works at the moment, and I am very blessed to be overwhelmed with all the success in my life right now.

Please tell us about your art.
As I mentioned before I am a fashion stylist, visual art is my area of expertise, and I absolutely love it. Styling is one of the few ways I can express myself to my peers and the world. I love creating, coming up with concepts, creative directing, and being open to new ideas. Since I have my own styling company (Looks By Ashe Taylor) I have a lot of creative freedom that I take advantage of. Shout out to my photographer (@iamsuedewilliams) since day one and one of the reasons I decided to start Looks By Ashe Taylor. I really hope people see my styling and instantly become inspired and free to create art themselves.

As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
As an artist, I believe success looks different for everyone. Personally, I define success as anything that makes you truly happy. When you have reached a point in life or in your career where you love what you do, and you have genuinely worked hard to get there that is success to me.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I have a styling page on Instagram @looksbyashetaylor follow me. You can also inquire about booking me for your next photo shoot, fashion show, event, or simply just for personal styling. I also have a small online boutique called Shop Looks where you can purchase most of the clothes that I style with. The proceeds will go to help me update my personal styling wardrobe. Shop Looks is available on Depop, Poshmark, and Mercari.
