Today we’d like to introduce you to Arrington Foster.
Arrington Foster was born and raised in Clinton, Maryland. Growing up in MD, Arrington always had a passion to entertain. From a very young age Arrington was heavily involved in theater. He performed in several plays, musicals, choirs, etc from elementary through college. Some include: The Wiz, Annie, Footloose, Oklahoma!, A Chorus Line, etc. He got his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater with a minor in Communication Studies from Texas Christian University in 2012. Arrington knew his dreams would eventually need him to move to Los Angeles since ultimately his true passion was in film/television. He did just that in 2015, where he started modeling with world-renowned agency LA Models. Following in 2016 he really took off where he appeared in a few national commercials such as Wells Fargo, Stein Mart and print ads for Herbalife & Bank of America. He worked hard to gather credits on his resume with short films, student films, improv, pretty much any and everything he could get involved with. In 2017, Arrington was blessed to receive the role of Rio Duncan who he currently plays on the hit tv show “The Family Business” on BET. He is super grateful that in 4 years he as been able to achieve this much success and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. This is only the beginning and he is excited to be on tv and movie screens everywhere achieving a lot of success and making God and his family proud. Arrington is currently represented by Zero Gravity Management and Daniel Hoff Agency in Los Angeles, CA.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being in this entertainment business is not easy and my story to get to where I am today wasn’t easy either. Coming from Maryland there wasn’t a lot for an actor who really wanted to take his passions to the big screen. I did participate in a few Investigation Discovery channel shows but ultimately I needed to move to LA. My family was very middle class but when I moved although I always and still do have the support of my family, I really had to hustle on my own. I had no family or friends in LA and I had to work my way up, moving from house to house, not having a car, taking public transit etc. But I thank my job with Towne Park as a valet that has been my consistent flexible job that I’ve had for six years that has kept me afloat. I’ve been a server, done retail, even six flags as a costume character but valet has been the most beneficial job that has allowed me to pursue my dreams. It actually allowed me to transfer from Maryland to Hollywood. My journey started out was never easy but I leaned on my mentors, friends, and family for support and advice. I took classes, got with the best photographers and teachers to help me navigate through this industry. I made some mistakes but I’m growing and still growing. It only makes me stronger and keeps me humble.
Please tell us about your art.
