Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Salsa.
Arielle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My mother put me in sewing lessons at the age of ten, I always had an interest in creating things on my own. I stopped once I got into High School thinking I was too cool to sew anymore. Once I got to college I would see a lot of clothing I liked on different musicians but could never afford it. So I started thinking to myself, “hey I can make that…”
My college background ended up being in music, I worked at a big agency for a few years straight out of college and gained a lot of knowledge about the music industry. I was always working on The Pretty Cult on nights and weekends, finally, I had enough of working for the man and decided to work try and do this thing on my own. The Pretty Cult does a lot within in the music scene of East LA, from presenting and putting on shows to dressing musicians. Music and my love for rock and roll is such a heavy influence in a lot of my work and brand aesthetic.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I still feel like such a baby brand compared to others around me and every day is a journey. Some weeks are great and others can be really challenging, I try to constantly remind myself to move forward, never look back, and learn from mistakes, nothing you ever really want in life comes easy. It’ll just feel that much better when I finally get to where I am trying to go.
Please tell us about The Pretty Cult.
The Pretty Cult is a clothing brand for the movers, shakers, and rock n rollers. I touch the world of rock and all things witchy and honestly create things I like, and try not to worry too much about what others think. I think what helps set me apart from others is my background in music and being able to genuinely blend both of those things together.
All pieces are made and designed by me in Los Angeles. I do custom pieces which are really exciting for me, I love creating something unique for an individual.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I feel like still, I am learning every day, I am not sure if I would necessarily go back in time and change things. I think the lessons I have learned and I have yet to learn will continue to shape my brand and myself.

Arielle is incredibly talented, driven & passionate. She always supports other small businesses and is all about collaborations that bring music, clothing and other artists together. She puts her heart into The Pretty Cult and it shows! I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for TPC!
