So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m only 20 years old. I was 17 when I first thought about starting my own small business. I also thought that it was impossible for a teen or young adult to start a business with no prior experience. I’ve always seen myself as an entrepreneur with a creative and unique mindset. I had many ideas going around and around my head but all seemed unrealistic for a young girl with no business experience. I’ve spent numerous of hours researching and watching YouTube videos on how to start your own business (would like to specifically thank Nay Nichole for her AMAZING business videos) and you could say that it paid off and it was well worth my time. After years of doubting myself, I said F**** it and started creating. Now I am the owner/CEO/ Founder of a beautiful brand called Iconic Mami and couldn’t be happier!
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting a business is not all fun and games. It takes hard work and dedication. You have to treat a business like your baby, you can’t leave it unattended when it’s firstborn and coming to an understanding of that was a challenge I faced. I’m a full-time college student working on her bachelor’s degree so finding time and making it fit into my daily life was a challenge within its self. Now here comes the juicy part, when you create a business you want nothing but the best for your customers. Finding the product with the best quality and good price is another challenge and for this, you have to have patience!

Iconic Mami started in 2020 in hopes of bringing the best quality and variety or mink lashes at an affordable price for everyone. As a small business that’s evolving and growing each day, we aim to satisfy every single one of our customers so that they could feel like the baddest B**** when wearing our beautiful lash strips! If you want something simple and classy girl, we got out! If you want to go all out and wear lashes like it’s going to be your last time baby we got you!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
My business is an online store so I ship worldwide but if I had to choose a location for my store, I would definitely choose LA because I can not only supply for my community but for artists and tourists!
