Meet Ari Moshe Wolfe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ari Moshe Wolfe.

Ari Moshe, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
The essence of it is I have always had an earnest desire to understand who I am, where I come from, what this life is for. In my early adulthood, I began collecting many astrology books. However, I got to the point where I felt deeply disheartened by the lack of deeper soul awareness in the books I read.

I felt deeply that astrology was real and that also there must be more to my life that the descriptions I read in the books. I couldn’t accept that my life here was just a bunch of personality traits, talents, challenges and tendencies. Why am I here, why is this my life, why are things the way they are?

Long story short, I passed on most of my books and then found my teacher, Jeffrey Wolf Green. I studied and practiced in my teacher’s school of Evolutionary Astrology for many years, ultimately beginning to teach others. In 2011 I wrote my own book for beginners to Evolutionary Astrology. The essence of my work as an astrologer is to guide people to their soul. I look at the personal natal chart (where all the planets were when a person was born) as a way to understand our purpose, why are we were, why did we each come into these lives, where can we all grow and evolve spiritually?

To me, the truth cannot be limited to a specific modality or way of thinking. As my journey continues to unfold I ever find that cultivating a direct experience of the cosmos is my highest value. The planets live within, and so, the more I know myself, the more I learn about the nature of reality. The most important part of my practice is to show up in a way of love and sincerity. To allows spirit to guide me in each session in order to serve what each person needs. Orienting to my work in this way feels deeply authentic and allows me to use astrology as a tool, not as an end. About five years ago, I began calling my work “Heart and Soul Centered Astrology” as I feel that “soul centered” alone was not entirely encompassing to the actual work I do and how I perceive.

But my work in the world doesn’t stop with astrology! I grew up playing piano and adopted the guitar as a teenager. I have always been writing songs, creating melodies for ancient Jewish prayers, writing and singing poetry about love, spirit and forgiveness, and even receiving songs in my dreams. As I grew as an astrologer and teacher, my spirit yearned for deeper meaning, deeper connection and devotion beyond the mind. So I took some of my songs, began working on my voice and my crafting of my songs for an album. What is unfolding is a path of service through music which I hope to share widely and freely. At the end of 2019, I released my first studio album Freedom Is My Holy Name. At that same time my daughter was born.

Currently, I am teaching through various online schools and am launching my own Heart and Soul Centered Astrology Online Training program for those who are entirely new to soul-focused astrology or astrology in general. I am eager to get started on my next album and start sharing more of my music as well!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not! For me personally, I have struggled the most with self-trust. I’ve had to learn to just be myself, not to compare or try to be like others. Often times this has meant moving forward with no precedent or example to follow but to truly trust my intuition.

I feel this is true for all of us: There’s a point on our journeys where we have to let go of the map, let go of what others may expect of us and choose to live in the present moment, with courage and confidence in who we are and what we have been given. There have been several points where I’ve needed to define my truth, often against the grain of what my teachers or community expected. One of the most strong examples of that was in my early adulthood (just around the time I was growing an interest in astrology) when I decided to expand my horizons beyond the orthodox Judaism I grew up with. I didn’t know anyone who felt a similar calling to find truth in the same way that I felt it. I had no known context for the journey I was about to set upon. But I knew I had to do it. This of course was scary but it opened the whole world up for me.

I feel, over the past 16 years, that I’ve walked that same journey but in different ways, many times over. Each time the formula has been the same: look nowhere else but inside, be honest with yourself with no hidden agenda or attachment to outcome, trust what you find and live it. My greatest struggles have, in a sense, always been the struggle between the unadorned simpleness of who I am, and everything else I have believed I should be.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
My work is as an intuitive guide and astrologer. I work with astrology as a lens through which I gain insight into the core purpose of each person’s life. My main work is one on one sessions with people and teaching. In my one on one sessions, my clients will come with questions about their life journey. These questions can be about anything, as diverse as there are human concerns. Some clients are more focused on things like money, relationship, etc. While others are more focused on spiritual growth and serve. To me it’s all the same. My inner orientation is to tune-in to the soul itself, our essence, and connect with where each person’s growth actually is. I do this by starting each session in prayer and reminding myself that my journey is one with my clients; that there is no separation. In this space, I allow the present moment to lead the way.

I feel this is what makes me unique in my work. I don’t just read a chart and tell someone about themself. I try to have no agenda to say anything in particular. My practice is to listen, to attune and to only serve what is needed.

As a teacher, I may have taught the same class a dozen times, but each time I approach it as if it’s my first time. I do this because I always want to find the teachings within, not on paper, not something I realized and wrote down a few years ago. Teaching in this way elevates my own understanding and I feel it brings a lot more benefit to others. The more authentic I can be in my work the more I see people benefit. This is something that I am proud of as a teacher and it excites me to get to share my own understandings with others.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Absolutely. Jeffrey Wolf Green as I mentioned. I can’t say enough about this soul. He is deeply attuned to the soul itself and spearheaded a modality of astrology that is spiritual at its core. His work and teaching has been the main influence for my astrological and many facets of my spiritual studies.

At the same time that I found Green’s teachings I also met Adam Gainsburg. Adam was one of my first astrology teachers and spiritual mentors. His work and guidance helped me in my earlier days of youthful seeking and I’m forever grateful for him taking me under his wing.

About five years ago, a relatively well-known astrologer named Kaypacha heard about my work and invited me to join his team of teachers in his New Paradigm Astrology community. Together we have been teaching and training hundreds of people. My popularity and success has been deeply benefited by my work with him, our colleagues and the NPA community.

There are many others for sure. In terms of my spiritual teachers, I am a student of A Course In Miracles which is deeply pivotal in my own mind training/ returning to love. For me practicing a loving mind is my most important inner work. Amma, Byron Katie, Adyashanti, Jennifer Dawn are all important teachers and guides in my life.
