So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My obsession with skincare – and it is an obsession – goes back to my childhood. I think I always knew that skincare would become my life’s work, so I sought the best training in the field. I went to esthetics college and found two gifted people to guide me, one of whom was Arcona. Arcona was a huge inspiration in my life and continues to be today.
Throughout my career, I followed my heart and intuitively understood the importance of doing something that one loves. I think being open to learning, growing and evolving, in addition to a well-honed work ethic, is the key to success. I also believe it’s important to recognize that we can’t let our fears stand in the way of our progress in both one’s personal life and one’s career.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have been very fortunate, but I also recognize the importance of surrounding oneself with people who are equally passionate. At ARCONA, we share our successes, which is the result of our team having a similar “mindset.” I also think it is important to have a destination in mind for life and your business. At the same time, you should never forget to enjoy the journey, stay flexible, and keep an open mind, as things have a way of changing even when everything appears perfectly planned. I would also add that I’ve learned you should follow your instincts, as they are often correct.

What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
I loved spending time with my amazing grandmother – on trips to museums or exploring San Francisco. She has made a profound effect on the person I am today. She is such an inspiration in my life because she has always been my biggest supporter.
