Meet Anthony Sandoval of Anthonyonthebeat in General LA Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Sandoval.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started off as a makeup enthusiast with little to no knowledge in makeup. I had severe acne in my teens and turned to makeup to help me find my confidence. What makeup did for me was transformative, people finally saw me the way I wanted them to see me. I became obsessed with makeup and fast forward a couple of years I landed a job at MAC cosmetics and learned everything I know now. I worked my way up and two short years later, I was the youngest manager in my region at only 21. Although I loved managing and leading a team, I felt like I had more to give artistically. I quit my job early this year and began cultivating a following and building my portfolio on social media. Since then, I have begun working with celebrities such as Naya Rivera and influencers such as Heather Sanders, Himynamestee and many more. I am still fairly new to this social media world and I am just trying to keep up.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s definitely been hard to grow a following or even have certain people take me seriously since I’m still a micro-influencer. Earlier this year however I was contacted by Sorella boutique, they took a chance on me and I ran with it. I’ve been able to take that opportunity and network. I’ve since landed several more jobs and it was amazing to add those images to my portfolio, I am beyond grateful for them.

Anthonyonthebeat – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a celebrity/influencer freelance makeup artist. I would like to say I specialize in a more sexy sultry type of glam makeup. I am most proud of the way I can make people feel with a little bit (or a lot of) makeup. What’s sets me apart from others is my dedication to always be the best at my craft.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Wow, this is a great question… I think being able to and continuing to do what I love everyday of my life is success. I’m excited to see myself evolve and grow. As long as I’m doing what I love everyday I’ll feel successful.
