Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Alexander.
Anthony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been interested in music since I could talk, but I started singing at 10 years old at a school talent show. By 11 years old, I was singing in restaurants, local bars and private events, and it’s all I’ve ever done and known.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Performing has always been natural for me, but as in any career, it comes with its struggles from time to time! One being is that I have struggled with dyslexia, and when I read words, they are all scrambled up. So learning lyrics is always a little bit of a struggle, but I always get through it fine! And not to mention sometimes playing a venue or event that isn’t as good as the others, but you learn to treat every show as of it were the biggest show you’ve ever done!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Anthony Alexander – what should we know?
My business is and has always been Music! One thing that I try to always do is if I’m singing a cover, is make it my own and tailor it to where it fits me best, and to also give my audience a different version than what they have heard. I’m kind of known for my high falsetto notes, even though just a few years ago, I wasn’t very good at them! But apparently, now I am! 🙂
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
One quality that is very important to me, is to always be myself and send the message that it’s ok to be yourself no matter what, and not be someone that other people want you to be. I always want my supporters to see me the same way every time and to always send a positive message to everyone and send love and joy to anyone that hears me.
