Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Korzen.
Hi Annie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have worked as a TV actress (SEINFELD’s Doris Klompus) and a humorous storyteller (The Moth.) I’ve performed my solo shows all over the world. Much to my surprise, at the age of 85, I have become a TikTok star with over 400,000 followers! This led to a book deal, THE BOOK OF ANNIE: Humor, Heart, and Chutzpah, from an Accidental Influencer. I am now busier and more successful than at any other time in my life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have had many failures, disappointments, and rejections. I’ve learned from all of these disasters, and each negative experience inspired me to improve my skills in order to be ready for the next challenge.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the actress that TV producers request when they need someone who knows how to get a laugh on one line. I have used that comedy skill in my writing, and that has paid off now in my TikTok popularity and the publication of my book. I’ve always been criticized for being too outspoken, too opinionated and now I am being celebrated for those very qualities.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success means being appreciated for doing work that I love. Also, I would like to be admired by people whom I admire!
