Meet Anne Sisteron of Anne Sisteron Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anne Sisteron.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started by becoming a GIA graduate Gemologist and Diamond Grader. By the time I graduated, I was pregnant with my eldest son so I didn’t immediately get in to the business. Then my second son came along and again it was postponed. Once they started pre-school, I began beading jewelry at my home either during nap time or when they went to bed at night. People would see me on the playground, school, and events wearing my jewelry and pretty soon people were requesting to purchase my pieces. Soon thereafter, I couldn’t keep up with the demand so I started manufacturing my designs in large quantities. At that point, I was selling out of my dining room at home and then my home began to look like a store, so I decided it was time to take the jump to open a boutique in Beverly Hills. Living in LA, I have the fortune of having access to celebrities who put my brand on the map and we organically began to grow even further.

Eventually, my boutique couldn’t keep up with demand – I personally would run over to FedEx several times a day to ship to people who began emailing me from all over. That is when I decided to launch my website annesisteron.com and today we ship literally all over the world. If I could have seen in a crystal ball the size my company has become, I would’ve had a hard time believing it. I’m truly humbled and grateful for my brand as well as my amazing team whom I couldn’t do this without.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a pretty smooth road, however, there have been a few bumps in the road. For example, with manufacturing and learning who to trust in the business. Honestly, the jewelry business is pretty shady, but I always felt my GIA background helped me a lot. I also believe that bumps in the road are actually a positive as you keep learning how to be better and better.

Anne Sisteron Beverly Hills – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in fine jewelry and perhaps well known for my colored stone pieces. I’ve had many proud moments, one being Oprah wearing my earrings on the cover of the September issue of Oprah Magazine. Another being, recently meeting Glenda Bailey – iconic Editor in Chief of Harper’s Bazaar and her telling me that she loves my jewels. I was so star struck! I will be very honest and tell you that my price point really sets me apart from other designers with the same quality of workmanship.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success by being excited every single day to get up and go to work. Jewelry design is my passion and I’m thrilled that even if I work a lot, it doesn’t feel like work. Success is also a balance of life and I’m lucky to share this ride with my husband and sons.
