Meet Anita Mccoy of TrinéNolé Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anita Mccoy.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I worked as a nurse for many years, and I truly enjoyed it. One afternoon while at work my teenager daughter called me and said “daddy is blue and not moving” once I heard “blue” as a nurse I immediately knew it was bad. My husband of 15yrs passed away in our home due to complications of hyperlipidemia, triggering an immediate heart attack. Shortly after his death I went back to work I would gone and get my makeup done professionally every single day before I want to work it was the only thing at the moment that made me feel okay. It would get me through the day, it covered up any worries and sadness, When I was made up I felt much better. I wanted other ppl to feel this way. It became very expensive to get my makeup done every day. I wanted a makeup line that was affordable yet good quality.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Not being known, there was a struggle with getting people to give your makeup line a try.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the TrinéNolé Cosmetics story. Tell us more about the business.
The company was named after me late husband and out youngest daughter.

“Triné” come from my husband place of birth which is Trinidad & Tobago and “Nolé” is out daughter name. We specialize and doing glitz and glam makeovers. My proudest moment with my company is when I’m paying payroll and I see the faces on all of my employees knowing that I’m there first employer knowing that these young kids are making tons of money every month aside from working for the Company truly makes me feel very proud I have one employee who is 20years now, she started working for me at 17yrs old. She saved up $18,000 in 2 1/2 years of working with me and now she’s buying a home for her single mother and brother those things make me so proud.
