Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Stevenson
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At 18, I left Santa Cruz and began my journey in Newport Beach, CA. I explored a variety of roles—waitressing, office management, personal assisting—while juggling business and acting classes at a junior college. After four years, I felt drawn to Hollywood, and despite little planning, I immersed myself in the acting and modeling world.
Eventually, my entrepreneurial spirit led me to create Angie’s Wieners, a mobile food business. It was a fun and unique venture that taught me valuable lessons in building a concept from scratch, securing funding, and seeing it through. After three years, I moved on and spent a year in theater school, a time of self-discovery. I booked several acting roles and ventured into real estate, which I still do through referrals.
About five years ago, I entered the cannabis industry, managing sales for multiple brands. It was an exciting, flexible career that allowed me to explore other passions. During this time, I saw a gap in the market for female-driven, health-conscious beverages and created Syreness, a line of cannabis-infused drinks combining herbs and terpenes for mood enhancement. Syreness is now available in 75 licensed retail locations across California.
Currently, I’m focused on securing investors for a new line of hemp infused beverages under the Syreness brand, set to debut in 2025 to go nationwide. With an emphasis on organic, healthy ingredients, I’m excited to bring this refreshing new product to life and expand our reach to a broader market.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Throughout my journey, I have faced numerous challenges, especially in my younger adult years. A major obstacle has been managing financial ups and downs, often investing my time, energy, and resources into a passion that promises future rewards but doesn’t yield immediate returns. At various points in my life, I’ve worn multiple hats: I’ve been both the employer and the employee, the mentor and the learner, experiencing periods of financial stability as well as times of struggle.
In recent years, navigating the regulatory landscape and tax environment in California has posed a considerable challenge for Syreness, along with other cannabis brands, cultivators, and licensed dispensaries. The restrictions have made it tough to find adequate distribution channels. Therefore, shifting Syreness’s focus to hemp-derived THC presents a promising opportunity, allowing us to expand our reach nationwide and build a thriving business.
Furthermore, through the challenges and experiences I’ve encountered, I’ve realized how vital it is to be selective about the people I surround myself with. Being around the wrong individuals can dull your sparkle and self-confidence which is needed for success. My life really changed when I focused on strengthening my confidence in both mind and body, while intentionally nurturing valuable relationships with the right individuals and mentors.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
A recent project I’m really excited to be of being part is a hilarious film called “The Invisible Raptor.” The film is currently making its way through the film festival circuit and has just secured outstanding distribution. When writer/producer/actor Mike Capes offered me the role of Gina Delvecchio, I happily accepted. What started as a promising project with a talented cast completely exceeded my expectations at the recent family and friends screening. Being part of such a brilliantly creative collaborative effort is an incredible feeling, and I cannot wait for the world to get to experience this film.
What matters most to you? Why?
I strive to live a life of purpose. The things I hold dear include my health, the well-being of our planet, my family, and the opportunity to experience the world through travel and adventure. I have a vision of starting an animal rescue in the near future, with the goal of making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need.
