Meet Angie Ramirez of Angie’s Pooch Pawlor in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angie Ramirez.

Angie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It began about 8 yrs ago in San Diego when I took an interest in pet grooming. I worked for a few Private and Corporate salons and realized I wanted a different environment for our Furry friends. I was looking for a fun, safe, clean and happy place where pets can socialize as the wait to get pampered. About 3 years ago I moved to L.A. and was working in the WeHo area where I quickly began to create really good relationships with customers. Two years ago I partnered up with Co-owner Noe Garcia, who is also a groomer, and we were determined to find and create the grooming salon we wanted for our customers. He and I visualized the same ideas, and we were ready to make this happen. We were passionate enough to not give up on searching for the right location. It took us some time but we finally have the Salon we wanted. Although we still have new plans for this awesome salon, we always make sure that our customer’s minds are at ease every time they leave their best furry friends at the Pooch Pawlor.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Well, it was very challenging finding the location, my Co-Partner and I looked for about a year. It took lots of sacrifices to save a budget for this investment since we did not really have any other kind of support, so we need to be very patient, and wait for the right time, but also didn’t want to pass up the right opportunity,

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Angie’s Pooch Pawlor story. Tell us more about the business.
Angie’s Pooch Pawlor focuses on making the grooming experience a good one for the Pet and Pet Parent. We are experienced groomers and want the Pet to come in happy and leave happy. Many people sometimes are hesitant to get their pets groomed because of bad experiences. We want to change that, we believe that regular grooming (just like us) is essential for a pet, it keeps their skin and coat healthy, and pets feel great! We are known for handling what some refer to “difficult” pets, I’ve had many customers come in and say other salons have banned their pets from going back, or they need to be sedated, or all these overwhelming comments. Luckily we have always supported Rescues, and with our experience with grooming, Rescues have helped us evaluate each pet and know that they are all different and we need to respect that. With that said, we have helped many pets learn to enjoy grooming, some have learned that being Pampered is FunFunFun! We take our time trying to know each pet and fulfill their needs as best we can. It’s important to build relationships with customers and always keep them informed of what their pet is getting each and every time, they are like our kids, so we want to make sure they are all treated with love, patience, and care. We are careful with the products we use for our Furry Friends so keep them all natural. I believe our pride in our work, passion, and consistency have led us thus far accomplish our goals.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe good luck comes to you when you work hard and try your best to get to where you want to be.
