Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Yee.
Hi Angela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Thanks so much for having me here! I’m excited to share a bit about my work. I’m an executive coach and healer with a passion for creating community and connection for as long as I can remember. I was born and raised in Boston, MA, to a Chinese immigrant family, and I think I can attribute some portion of my passions to the legacy of my parents and grandparents who came before me. My parents have a very community-minded spirit, as organizers and social advocates in the Chinese community, and my grandfather was a traditional Chinese medical doctor. Funny how hindsight is always 20/20.
In my own path, I have made several career transitions. I started my career as an architect, designing and building community spaces, including hospitals and schools in both LA and the San Francisco Bay area. Several projects I worked on for UCLA, Stanford and Sutter Health Systems were recognized by the American Institute of Architects and US Green Building Council (LEED) for innovations in design
Once I moved to San Francisco, I became curious about how I could positively impact more people with my work, so I decided to shift into technology, where I created and launched software products to help people in the architecture and construction industries be safer in their work, and be more accurate and efficient. In this work, I helped form teams and create culture and belonging, which was where my passion for community was able to flow in. Helping people to find their passions at work and in life was something that started to become a larger part of my world at this point.
More recently, I launched my business in coaching and reiki healing because I’ve witnessed the amazing benefits from these modalities in creating deep connection, and embodiment of one’s true leadership potential
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Over the years, I’ve hit some hurdles, with extreme stress and burnout in my architecture roles, leading me to develop gut health issues, for which I started going to holistic healers over 15 years ago. Professionally, I was always burning the candle at both ends. This affected my personal life as well.; I found myself moving for jobs, or for my former partner’s jobs, and always putting work first; which ultimately led to a painful divorce. During the period surrounding my divorce, I was evacuated from fires, had job changes and other upheavals. But, I found I was able to show up in a more engaged way with all of these changes in my life through the discovery of reiki which became a total game changer on my life’s healing path
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Angela Yee Coaching + Healing?

What matters most to you?
I love helping to empower folks through coaching and reiki who are trying to find their career paths in the building or tech industries. In particular, the BIPOC community or women in industries where they’re underrepresented to find their footing and ultimately their fulfillment in work and life.
I am also a community advocate, through volunteering at organizations such as Project Angel Food and LA Food Bank to help deliver fellow Angelenos nourishing meals.
