Meet Angela Walitt of Beautified By Angie in Marina Del Rey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Walitt.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.

I’ve always loved beauty and being around beautiful things.

In 1994, I was a Registered Dental Assistant practicing in Beverly Hills. My cousin owned a day spa in New York City where she was an esthetician to the stars. I visited her and felt inspired. The spa environment was soothing; dim lights, candles, soft pretty music, not to mention the aromatherapy, it’s scent so rejuvenating and healing.

That was a defining point in my life and I became clear on what I wanted to do with my career.

I was eager to learn, enrolled in cosmetology school, graduated, and passed all the test required to earn my California State Board License.

My first job was at a premiere day spa in Santa Monica. I loved working with people who wanted to look good: young mothers, middle-aged women who enjoyed taking care of their skin and health, even celebrities. I was passionate about skincare. I built a great reputation for myself and began having dreams of owning my own spa. I didn’t know how or when this could happen, but I knew in my heart that one day it would.

I opened Angie’s Petite Spa in 2001. I felt so blessed! Four years later we became a Med Spa and began offering state of the art treatments including IPL, Laser Hair Removal, Botox, Restylene, Herbal Green Peel and Chemical Peels.

By 2011, I became interested in healthy living and wanted to find wellness solutions I could apply to my life. I closed the spa and began teachers training in Gyrtonic Healing Arts as well as learning about proper nutrition and plant based raw foods.

I am blessed to have trained with some of the best aestheticians in the business and opened Beautified by Angie in Marina Del Rey, California. I customize skincare plans to treat everything from adult acne to aging. My ongoing Medical Aesthetics training enables me to offer the latest innovations in the skin care and beauty industry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Any woman can tell you that juggling home, children, and a career isn’t easy. There were many struggles along the way. I tried to do everything myself, with a little help from others and spread myself thin trying to be a supermom as well.

I realize that we all need each other in this world. We can’t do it alone. No man is an island. I learned to delegate and surround myself around good people. I’m a just get it done kind of girl. I appreciate efficiency.

I want to bring my best to my clients: the newest innovations to help them look and feel younger, the best products. This desire to give people only the best drives me and keeps me on my game.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Beautified By Angie story. Tell us more about the business.
