Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Armstrong.
Hi Angel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey really started when I was in high school in California. I would see my friends get teased, and I wanted to help them. I had a strong interest in the beauty industry at the time, so I would bring my mom’s makeup to school and give them makeovers. It would make them feel pretty and boosted their confidence.
After high school, I worked a few jobs, but my passion for the beauty industry never left me. I knew what I wanted was to continue to help women feel beautiful. So, in 2013,I enrolled in beauty school and at the same time, I openedmy own beauty salon, Fab Illusion Beauty Collection in California. It was a great opportunity to hire students and my friends.
What I found while learning the industry and running the salon was that I had a special interest in eyelash extensions and semi-permanent eyebrows. Five years after opening my salon, I found myself taking many courses to perfect my skills in lashing and brow servicing. The industry has grown so much. To me, it was like creating art on a women’s face. So, while I was in beauty school, I would teach my classmates my new technique as I would learn.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There’s definitely been obstacles.
But, I thank God I’ve been able to overcome them and move forward.

Today, Fab Illusion Beauty Collection has turned into a lash and brow beauty empire. We offer high-quality products and training. We have been growing nonstop, and I am grateful to be in high demand as a beauty instructor.
In addition to the virtual trainings I offer through my website, I also travel all over California teaching women how to do lashes and brows. There is no better joy for me than watching women learn a technique that gives them a healthier self-esteem and could be life-changing for them, just like back in my high school days. I also love that I can provide education to women to help them grow their businesses in the industry.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I credit my success to remaining humble and realizing that I will also be learning in this industry. I continue to be a student in my industry. With new trends continuously evolving, it’s always new, fresh and fun.
