Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Kabamba.
Andy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Music Manager/ A&R I came up in the music industry as a dancer-choreographer and stage director transitioned to an assistant for a musician to understand the background aspect of business and climbed up to management position by being hungry and productive persistent especially working with the likes of Birdman, Lil Wayne, Sean Paul reggae artist, Future, Drake, T-Pain and hit producers like Dre Moon, Metro Boomin and many more turned me into a coordinator that has moved mountains in this music business, by coordinating hits like No worries, Drunk in love, 7/11, we dem boyz, Tap out and many more for such as Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa.
Currently managing Grammy artist T-Pain which was great pick up for my company about three years ago as well been managing platinum songwriter A1 Bentley and Grammy producer Dre Moon which keeps me in conjunction by providing music and A&R for Hit artist Future & Producer Metro Boomin!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth a road there have been many struggles financially and emotionally and some physically at times.
Self-confidence is the biggest battle you must keep faith and belief in yourself and the plans or plays your creating and you must be ready to be rejected, doubted, disbelieved.
A major struggle is also finding the right talent to match your hunger and hustle because proper preparation is the way to defeat all losses dont rush yourself timing is everything.
What else should we know about your work, what your specialize in, what you are more proud of and what sets you apart from others?
Music manager and A&R (Artist Repertoire).
I specialize in guidance in an artist life and music career organization which leads to be most known for is putting together big records and bringing artist or producers big deals money moving deals life-changing deals.
I am most proud of the family I have built along this journey, I have the beauty of having all my clients be close and respect each other to become one big family.
What sets me apart from others is the ability to paint a vision and be able to do the vision as well such as being multi-talented as a performer and coordinator, being forward and direct goes a long way in this business
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is when your goals are met and your stable financially and mentally some might not have the financial means yet but have the plan and road already lined up and ready which means patience because the money is just right around the corner work for the passion and love of the Job or career or project the rest will fall in place.
