Meet Andrey Tarasov

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrey Tarasov.

Andrey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Born in Moscow, Russia and moved to Atlanta, GA when I was three with family. Began skateboarding at eight years old which had made me interested in living in Los Angles from a young age. At a young age, I would travel to LA for skate contests but when I was 18, I moved to LA to pursue my dream/career.

Skateboarding has helped me get into modeling & photography.

Represented by LA models and constantly working on skate projects.

Recently graduated college with a marketing degree.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As a kid growing up in Atlanta, it was not usual to be a skater – so not fitting in.

My parents got divorced when I was 11 and I took the situation and progressed at skateboarding instead of being bummed out.

If ever having a bad day or bummed out, I go out and skate to ease my mind and try to achieve something new and better.

Its always a challenge but if you enjoy what you do then its worth it.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Have been a skateboarder since I was eight years old.

Currently sponsored by Kingswell skate shop (in Los Feliz), Stereo Skateboards, Straye Footwear, Imperial Motion Clothing, Bones Wheels & have other sponsors too just not listed.

Traveling and creating content and footage for skate sponsors. Have skated contests in Germany, Berlin, Copenhagen and Sweden to name some countries.

Model at LA models Agency.

Always bringing my camera with me while going out and skating with friends and shooting friends.

Different – Hopefully being versatile haha.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Patrick Melcher from Kingswell skate shop brought me under his wing when I moved to Los Angeles with sponsoring me by the skate shop and helping me progress as a skateboarder and an overall person.

Dylan Rieder is a skateboarder who I have idolized since I was a child and his incredible style is super influential to me.

Ben Nordberg is a skater that I also looked up to alongside Dylan Rieder.

Josh Warner is a photographer that I assist and work with that has been super helpful for me and taught me a lot.
