Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Thornton.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career two decades ago in agency public relations. I worked for two of the top global PR firms and cut my teeth on fortune 500 companies and launched some of the most well-known brands of today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I decided to start my own marketing and branding agency after being laid off of a beloved career in corporate America. I thought I was at my forever home when I realized that working for someone else gives you little to no control of your destiny. I loved what I was doing and the impact I was making and found myself devastated when the company made internal changes that left me without a job.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Prolific Public Relations & Prolific Events?
My focus is on all things PR, Marketing, and Communications to grow a strong brand and business!
These three things are all very much my zone of genius, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned along my journey through leadership positions with the top global PR agencies and work with fortune 500 companies over the last two decades. I’m just so excited about what we do at Prolific Public Relations, a boutique PR consultancy with the mission of helping businesses achieve their goals and increase revenue. My team and I have extensive experience in developing strategic branding and marketing communications programs that help companies build, leverage, and maximize the value of their brands and gain trust with those that matter to their business.
We’ve already begun teaching businesses what strategies, tactics, tools, and techniques we use to turn ordinary businesses into iconic brands. I can’t wait to help as many as I can do the same.
Prolific Events focus is on helping others plan & create extraordinary events and experiences. We offer both A la Carte Event Services in addition to Full-Service Event Planning. How do you think about luck?
I’m not sure luck has anything to do with my success, I feel it’s more of preparation and hard work and being blessed! Although lucky people do have similar traits, they are more likely to notice, create and act on opportunities. They use their gut feeling to make successful decisions. Lucky people seem to take more calculated risks that allow learning from experiences which gives room for growth and success.
