Meet Andrea Rastelli of Padano Productions in Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Rastelli.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am the founder and CEO of Padano Productions. I was born and raised in Milan, Italy and only moved to Los Angeles six years ago! I realized what I wanted to do at an early age when I attended a live concert back in Milan, and found myself more interested in what was happening behind the scenes than what was happening on stage. I was fascinated by the audio and visual aspects of the production – the speakers, the spotlights, the tech booth and the sound stage.

After earning a degree in Audio Engineering from SAE College in Milan, I moved to the perfect city where I could turn my dream into reality! After working at several recording studios and at hundreds of live events through freelancing, I finally felt inspired and ready to start a company of my own, specializing in audio, lighting, and visual solutions for live events.

Has it been a smooth road?
Starting any business, of course, comes with its own set of specific challenges. But in addition, when I first came to this country, I didn’t speak the language and didn’t know a single person; in essence I was starting from scratch. These challenges alone would be difficult enough, but in addition to having to learn a new language I also had to familiarize myself with American customs and values, and then put this knowledge to use in order to establish and grow business relationships in a field where the competition can be fierce. Needless to say, it’s been daunting, but rewarding too, now that jobs have been coming in and I feel more comfortable both technically and socially.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Padano Productions is a fully equipped AV, Sound & Lighting company for live events throughout Los Angeles. We specialize in providing the best sound set up and lighting design for weddings, corporate events, concerts, galas, fashion shows, private parties, and more! We also do event rentals, staging, projection, audio and light engineering.

I think what sets us apart from other vendors is that we are up for any challenge, and we are problem solvers. If a client comes to us with an idea that we’ve never done before, we will find a way to make it happen! We pride ourselves on our creativity, dedication, and of course, making sure we go above and beyond to give our clients the best service we can!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I chose to move from Milan to Los Angeles because I really felt it was the perfect city for starting my business. Some people seem a bit surprised by that, since Milan is a very cosmopolitan city with local and international events that happen all year round, but Milan is also a much smaller city than Los Angeles. I think there is much more opportunity here in LA, not only because of its vast size and larger population, but because there is so much diversity here. I have been able to work with so many people from many different cultures and backgrounds, and that is definitely one of the best aspects of my job!

I would definitely recommend to someone in this field of work to start out here in LA! It may create more competition for me, but I’m up for the challenge.
