Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Leon.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I use to be an actress with bulimia, I had a few near-death experiences. I left my life as I use to know it – I guess to find out who I was without my head in a toilet. I went to the Amazon jungle and discovered superfood, plant medicine and started the long healing journey of self-discovery. I spent half of my life destroying myself to now spend this part of my life loving myself. I really believe there is a great connection to self-evolution through the choices of food we consume. It should be a conscious thought, a better treatment of the animals we sacrifice, what “we”, do with our lives, to make these sacrifices worth their life for ours.
10 years ago, if you told me that I would one day be a chef, I would tell you that you need therapy. Look at me now, www.Andie’skitchen.com.au, I cater weddings, birthday, private parties, etc. I have taught a class for 3 years at, Wholefoods Market”, on healing eating disorders with food.
Has it been a smooth road?
If there is one person in the world that has had a smooth life, I would love to meet them. Life is so full of challenges. My list of challenges is endless from teenage pregnancy, 17 years of bulimia, the father dying of Aids, Mother left in a wheelchair very poor financially with 3 daughters (I am the oldest)… etc., etc.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Andie’s Kitchen – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Andie’s Kitchen. Superfood cuisine, making amazing dishes that taste like Grandma food but is so so good for you. All organic happy farming, wild fish, wild foods, flowers, herbs and intention. I have consulted for many companies, developed recipes, catered destination weddings, catering retreats, private events and more.
Cake with a difference, organic cakes that have intentions for prosperity, love, peace. Example: Lavender rose for love, chill, chocolate passionfruit for passion, etc.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Downtown LA. I lived all over the city but here is my favorite. It’s the DT bubble. These days, it’s hard for me to live, unless I am working. I went to Australia 4 times last year and only 3 times to Santa Monica.
You have everything here. Well, except a Trader Joes.
