Meet Andrea Jiron

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Jiron.

Andrea Jiron

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a love for flowers and nature, letting their beauty inspire me in every aspect of my life. I found myself working in flower shops for years and designing for events out of my garage. As time went on, I knew I would need my own space. One day, while walking my dogs, I saw a for rent sign outside of the cutest building in downtown San Clemente a couple blocks from where I live. I was immediately drawn to the space and how light and airy it was inside. I knew it was the perfect black canvas to create our studio.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business from the ground up is undeniably challenging. As a business owner, wearing multiple hats is something I am still getting used to. Finding the balance between social media, marketing, accounting, and, of course, designing florals will always be a struggle. May 12th will be our first-year anniversary, and I couldn’t be more proud of what we have accomplished so far. I constantly remind myself what drew me to this business in the first place: the opportunity to create beauty through flowers.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
At Colette, I wanted a studio that can do all things floral. Creating custom arrangements for every moment, big or small. While weddings and events are our specialty, we also enjoy collaborating with interior designers for styled shoots. From weekly flower subscriptions to seasonal installations, we offer a wide range of services.

We pride ourselves on our versatile designs. Loving the challenge to create something completely new a different for each occasion based on the wide range of styles, trends, and influence of our clients. From the selection of blooms to the choice of colors and textures, every detail is carefully considered.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I loved being outside in nature. I found the freedom to dream and spent hours lost in books. Today, as I get to spend all my time around the most beautiful flowers, I’m reminded of the magic that sparked my imagination all those years ago.
