Meet Andrea Garces of AG FITNESS in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Garces.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Andrea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My journey simply started because of acting. I moved to Los Angeles to be an Actress, I never knew I would end up a Personal Trainer. I use a lot of what I learned in the theater to motivate my clients. I embody and feel empathy towards other people’s circumstances and help them achieve a more confident body and mind.

Hollywood has a lot of perceptions on Body image, myself included. I learned to love myself and body type; I built my physique not on how others view me but on how it makes me feel, that keeps me motivated and grounded. Everyone is worthy of a Powerful and Healthy body.

I started my business by believing in myself, I let nothing defeat me and I play the cards I’m dealt with. I’ve always dreamed of achieving something meaningful and great. I believe that personal training doesn’t have to be narcissistic or expensive. Fitness is an outlet that can help change and save many lives. It is my job to communicate to the world how to change their lifestyles. Putting a smile on people’s faces making them laugh and love themselves is my mission. It is important we live with passion and purpose.

Has it been a smooth road?
I moved to Los Angeles without my family so things can get pretty lonely. I’ve become an independent soul and learned to deal with things myself, as a result I’m a much stronger woman inside and out. Through my ten years here, I learned that things are harder to earn than I thought. The competitive and corrupt Film industry brought me to unemployment many times. I was told I needed to lose 15 pounds by my agent, at the time I didn’t know what she meant but that comment changed my future.

I gained the courage to become a trainer through my own experienced difficulties. I used the painful experiences as fuel towards my goals. You have two choices indulge in pity or use it to fuel you with good energy. The energy we need to workout and energy that we need to progress in our lives. Fitness changed me completely and I’ve never been more confident in myself. The pain, the obstacles, and the outside factors will not bring me down. I will remain mentally and physically strong and help my community become a stronger united family.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the AG FITNESS story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is called AG FITNESS, which stands for my initials. What I do is get to deeply know my client and I transform their way of living, thinking and performing.

I start with a motivational workout tailored to my clients’ goals. I always try to leave them feeling better than they came in. I observe their movements in detail through the sessions and adjust movements that are best suited for them. During the process, the client is informed of a macro-nutrient diet that will take them to their goal in the most efficient way.

I’m known for making my clients laugh a lot, I could also make them cry from results and motivation they never thought were possible. I’m mostly Proud of believing in myself. You don’t need the most fancy degree to be smart or achieve your vision. Inform yourself with the tools necessary daily.

What sets me apart from others? I’ve always been a real person. I never let HOLLYWOOD get to me. I stay grounded in reality to the things that really matter. I put the PERSONAL in personal training. I engage with my clients wholeheartedly.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I see my industry growing daily, more people are looking to get fit and fight against sickness and the corruptions of this world.

We fight daily for better food, Health care, Mental Health. Fitness is the root of all that and will be the cure to healthier lifestyles.

5-10 years I aim to have an ODT Online Digital Training, a course required to be completed by students in High school, colleges, and working adults. I think a lot of the training will be Digitally organized in the future.
