Meet Andrea Blindt of Growing Miracles with Andrea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Blindt.

Andrea Blindt

Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted to help people, so in college, I pursued a degree in nursing. I graduated at the top of my class and was hired at one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation, working in oncology. I LOVED it. I went to work each day with a smile on my face and a warmth in my heart. I formed beautiful connections with my patients and their families, and I excelled in the field.

I was awarded a research grant that allowed me to study alternative therapies along with palliative care, and my passion for holistic health grew. Unfortunately, change is excruciatingly slow when it comes to medicine and the way it is practiced. On average, it takes over a decade from the time a discovery is made to the time it is implemented. That’s a long time when you are waiting for a specific treatment, cure, or transformation.

I was at a crossroads in my life. One where I continued doing what I loved but was required to provide outdated care. The other was diving into a world that I believed had the ability to bring deeper levels of healing but was not well known.

It took the deaths of my firstborn twins to fully plunge me onto that new path. After they died, I was struggling with depression, anxiety, and debilitating panic attacks. I needed help, and I knew it wasn’t going to be through a cocktail of medications that my doctors had prescribed me.

In order to truly heal my body and mind, I moved towards more holistic modalities like nutrition, herbs, essential oils, EMDR, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The more I learned, the more my curiosity grew.

Utilizing the knowledge I had, I was able to heal my body, successfully birth 4 more children, and completely transform my life. I feel blessed, and I want to share that same gift with the world! I believe no diagnosis is too final, the past too messy, or the future too uncertain to fully live a life you love today and to have optimal health doing it!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road. It was more like a mountain road with twists, turns, and a few potholes that threatened to bottom me out, but despite all of that, I persevered. I never lost sight of why I was doing what I was doing.

I am incredibly driven, organized, and proactive. So, when I decided to start my own business, I had a website, business cards, and a list of clients eager to work with me in less than 48 hours. I hit the ground sprinting and absolutely loved the impact my business was having on the world.

One of the biggest gifts I uncovered during that time was the wisdom to practice what I teach.

My business was thriving, my husband and four young kids adored me, and I knew I was on the right path in my life. But instead of feeling fulfilled and at ease, I felt overwhelmed and empty.

I became frustrated and sad. I was showing up and doing all the things, but something big was missing. I realized that in my pursuit of caring for everyone else, I’d completely neglected myself.

I apologized and forgave myself for doing the best I could at the expense of myself, and I vowed to make myself a priority moving forward.

That looked like me getting really clear on what was most important to me and how I wanted to feel in my life and practice. After that, I focused on the actions that would carry me closer to my desired feeling at the end of each day.

I knew that in order to truly see the changes I desired in my life, I needed to first create the changes within me. So, I updated my list of priorities, limited the number of clients I accepted at a given time, and learned to delegate tasks so that I could spend time doing more of the things that recharged me.

I think so often, as women, we are taught that we can do it all. We can be successful businesswomen, run a household, prepare home-cooked meals, drop the kids off to school, pick them up, take them to practice, attend school and social events, dote on our husbands, maintain friendships, volunteer in the community and on and on the list goes- but we can only fully succeed at those things if we prioritize what is most important in our lives, fill our own buckets up, and lean on others.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Growing Miracles with Andrea?
My practice is unique in that I don’t want to keep patients indefinitely. Ok, that sounds terrible out loud! What I mean is that my practice empowers people to confidently make health choices that are in alignment with their values without needing to rely on me for the rest of their lives for the answers. I am very passionate about equipping my clients with the knowledge they need in order to thrive in all areas of their life. Whether it’s navigating an illness, moving through emotional challenges, or simply deepening the connection they have with themselves and others.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to optimizing health. Since we are all unique, the care I provide is individually customized. I spend time getting to know the clients I work with so that together, we can unearth the root cause of the challenges they are facing. This allows them to understand the impact things have on their physical and mental health, and as they become active participants in their healing journey, they are better able to make decisions that align with their goals. I truly believe that when we know better, we have the ability to do better, and that starts with first becoming aware and then making adjustments.

Because I wear so many hats, my practice is able to serve many people. I am a nurse, holistic health practitioner, certified homeopath, rapid transformational therapist, life coach, and so much more. Not only do I have a college degree and years of higher educational training, I also have a lifetime of hands-on experience as my foundation.

One thing I love about my practice is that no two patients are the same, and I never know who is going to walk through my door. I always wear my personal, medical, and therapist hat when I work with clients in order to provide the highest level of care possible.

I’ve helped many families navigate infertility and ultimately bring a healthy baby or two home. I’ve worked with oncology patients, both in optimizing their health and in creating end-of-life plans that they find comfort in. Many patients come to me for support with balancing hormones, navigating hot flashes, reducing excess weight, increasing metabolism, decreasing brain fog, managing inflammation in the body, eliminating parasites, and increasing overall energy.

I review blood work from a functional medicine perspective and readily collaborate with other physicians in order to offer clients the best results. When clients come to me with mental health challenges, I use various modalities, including Rapid Transformational Therapy, to provide lasting results.

As patients grow in their health and confidence, they naturally require less support, and instead of being patients, they evolve into friends. It’s one of my greatest joys to receive a message, photo, or card from a past client who is thriving in life and takes a minute to share that gift with me!

What matters most to you? Why?
Feeling good and showing others that they can too!

This is important to me because, for the majority of my life, I felt crummy and was told by healthcare professionals that my life would always be that way. I navigated big health challenges, a tumor on my ovary, infertility, endometriosis, the loss of my firstborn twins, depression, and anxiety, and I felt hopeless and afraid after the medical providers I looked up to for answers had none and weren’t willing to look further for one.

I knew that my practice would be different. I knew that if I didn’t have the answer, I would search for it. I don’t give up, and I am willing to hope for my clients until they are able to hope for themselves again.

I knew I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to help change people’s lives for the better, and that’s what I do today. I can honestly say I am living my calling in life. I’ve transformed my sorrows into celebrations, and that means you can too!
