Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Sandoval.
Andre was born and raised in Santa Ana California, of Mexican descent and in his 20’s, one of his passions was graffiti art led to a near-death experience after falling three stories off a building that he was painting. After learning how to walk again, he realized that the Western approach to his pain management and use of pharmaceuticals were ineffective in his recovery. After recovering from the injury & overcoming alcoholism, In 2012 Andre began practicing Kundalini Yoga and Meditation and at the same time, Andre was also baptized by the Native American Church. Through Kundalini Yoga, he was given the name Devajeet Singh which means; “One who overcomes obstacles by experiencing their divine consciousness.” Since then Andre has become an instructor of Kundalini Yoga and opened his own Healing and Wellness Studio in the very town that he was born in 2014.
In 2017, Andre married Marisol Silva and were told that they would not be able to conceive a child, so they sought out the Kambo medicine. After working with Kambo for a year, Marisol became pregnant and gave birth to a very happy and healthy baby girl. Andre’s gratefulness to Kambo has encouraged him to incorporate ceremonies into his healing center in Santa Ana – and he has become an integral part of the Kambo medicine community. He and his wife now lead the Deep Meditation Tribe spiritual retreats to places like Sedona, Mt. Shasta & Peru. He looks forward to bringing the healing medicine of the sacred frog or other holistic practices to people who are ready to awaken their lives by opening up, letting go, and go the distance.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A near death experience at 22, where I spent a year learning to walk again & used cannabis to overcome a pain medication addiction. Then also overcoming alcoholism drugs, & unhealthy vegetarian diet after emitting myself into the hospital in my 30’s.
8th Chakra Studio – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I teach Kundalini Yoga & Meditation two nights a week, hold a Kambo Ceremony every Monday night, private Kambo Ceremonies weekdays, Live Podcast every Tuesday, Gongs & Bongs Sound Bath or Shamanic Sound Baths mostly on the weekends! My wife offers Transcrystal Therapy Healings. I’ve also had my elders, Huichol Peyote Wisdom-keepers share their knowledge or perform Spiritual cleansing’s. My studio is a Shamanic Yoga Studio where we push the boundaries on holistic medicines by offering ancestral plant & frog medicines in a safe & sacred space. My studio is a pioneer for future Kambo & other plant medicine clinics or centers in the U.S.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Teaching & talking at transformational festivals while leading Spiritual Retreats with my wife & family to sacred places like Sedona Arizona, Peru & other places while still keeping my studio open for Yoga classes & other events when I’m out of town, like a self-sustainable healing center.
